  • Music from My Childhood (Part II) on Brunch In The Basement With JaVonne
About a month ago we had a really good time playing some music and chatting about the soulful sounds of the 1960's and 1970's. Specifically, some of the music that was played in my mother's house when I was a kid. What fun! We even spoke about childhood toys. I was told we needed a part II and since I am celebrating black music month, let's keep it going with more of the soulful sounds of the sixties and seventies on Brunch In The Basement With JaVonne!

  • Intimate Realness with Meka Rae and Renair: Pride In Relationships
    Hi All!
Tonight Renair and I are discussing pride in relationships. Pride can be a very harmful aspect of a relationship. If you are prideful it can destroy communication, trust, loyalty, security, and so much more. Does pride play a huge role in your relationship? Are you too prideful to take responsibility for your mistakes in the relationship and to correct them? Do you allow pride to keep you from treating your spouse respectfully? Are you allowing pride to keep you in an unhappy/unhealthy relationship? Lets talk about it!

  • My Childhood Favorites In The Basement With JaVonne
Since this is a holiday weekend, one that brings back fond memories of family barbeques and picnics, I have been reminded of some of the sounds that shaped my love of music. Actually, my love of music is still being shaped. Whenever I hear something brand new that hits me in a particular way, it adds to my musical taste, so, I'm going to do this show only focusing on music I knew by age 12.  Let's go back...back into time...Now most of it is "soul music" and "R&B" but you might be surprised at some of the cuts that made my list of early favorites.

  • The G-spot with Meka Rae: Sex Work Taboo (Prostitution)
    Hi Bedroom Playmates!
Trigger Warning: We discussed sexual abuse and rape were discussed during this show. If you or someone you know are facing abuse or rape please dial 911 or visit: http://www.pandys.org/crisissupport.html
    Human Sex Tracking Hotline/Reporting:1-888-373-7888
Why do we consider prostitution taboo? Why do we consider it more taboo for women to enter into these professions than we do men? Why does this double standard exist? Why are there laws against prostitution? Should these laws exist? Shouldn't it be a person's right to sell their body if they want...or for a person to pay for sex? If prostitution was legal...would the incidents of rape and sexual harassment lessen? Would you or have you hired a prostitute? how would you feel if your lover cheated on you with a prostitute? would you take him or her back?
