A-lister, world renowned, highly sought after audio book narrator Alex Picard drop by WKXLs NH Unscripted to talk you off that ledge.In what turned out to be a wayyyyy too short chat she gives us hard look into the craft. And let me tell you, it’s NOT for the faint of heart. She details things that she has to prepare like: being in a booth by yourself for hours on end, different accents, genders, multiple characters, geographic locations, unknown word pronunciations and so much more. Accepting or not accepting books or genres to read, deadlines, coordinating with the author, maybe including other narrators. It’s all there. Makes be sweat just thinking about it.

"New Hampshire Tunes in Manchester has provided instruction and guidance for musicians of all ages for over 13 years and it also serves as a top area recording studio under the direction of owner Bob Desmarais. For the finale of our Local Musicians Week, Bob introduced us to two students at the school and a local performer who records at New Hampshire Tunes. We heard from Jennifer Mitchell, who has been awarded with the Hippo’s Top Musical Act for three years running. Jennifer played her latest original song, “Harmony” in honor of Harmony Montgomery. 18-year old voice student Liviana Canali of Bedford performed the Marty Robbins song “My Love”.

12-year old voice student Lily Fitzpatrick of Hooksett sang Noah Kahan’s “Stick Season”. Both Liviana and Lily were accompanied on guitar by Bob Desmarais."

The four man band has been making its’ Rock ‘N Roll presence felt in the Granite State for years appearing at various venues and festivals. They are about to release their second CD, “No Static”, which features eight original songs, a few of which are can be heard on today’s segment. Stand Up Audio is made up of Joe Pero on guitar and vocals, Joe Cadrette on drums and vocals, Ben Cooper on vocals and harp and Heath (Babe) Auger on bass and vocals.

It’s a shortened version of the phrase Monster Romantic Comedy which just so happens to be what their new horror rom-com production, Romantic Atmos-FEAR, is about. Whoddathunkit! Author/Director Will Saxe along with actress Heather Howe stopped by to give NH Unscripted all the deets on this unique and creative show. It’s a series of short plays with titles such as “Witch Seth”, “Once in a Full Moon”, “Just Vamp” and “Pieces of You”. Will and Heather give us the low-down on how the show came about, some idea of what’s going to happen (can’t reveal too much after all), what they were looking for from anyone that auditioned and, trust me, a whole lot more! Performances 10/11-10-20 at Nasson Community Center and Little Theatre (Springvale, ME) & 10/25-10/27 at RPAC - Rochester Performance & Arts Center.

Mike has been described as equal parts Paul Simon and Rolling Stones. He combines lyrical depth with a rock and roll attitude. Mike took his career pursuits to Nashville for several years but has now returned to New Hampshire to compose and record more original music. The New England native native has been featured in the Boston Globe as well as The River and NHPR. Mike is also the Director of Content at Citizens Count.
