“It is easier to love humanity as a whole than to love one's neighbor,” quipped American philosopher Eric Hoffer. He’s probably right. But loving our neighbor is exactly what God has called us to do…fundamentally. So what does that look like? We begin our discussion with a new sermon series titled: “Called.”  

Humility is either chosen or learned. Humility can be a painful lesson to learn, as Nebuchadnezzar experienced. Daniel, on the other hand, chose humility. What does it look like to descend into greatness?  This concludes our sermon series, “Thriving in Exile: Lessons from Daniel.”        

Daniel prospered under two empires. He had position, influence, and probably wealth. These weren’t the source of his thriving, though. We consider how Daniel thrived . . . even in a lion’s den.
