家裡一人一台電視的家庭愈來愈多了，這也許是為了解決像對話中這種搶電視節目看的情形。channel原意是指「海 峽」、「小路」或「狹小的地區」，現在也有「頻道」、「途徑」 的意思。sales channel則是「銷售通路」的意思。(順帶一提，如果想表達「我想轉台。」，在電視方面，我們都說I want to watch a different channel.，若是收音機，就說I want to listen to a different station.。)
要變更電視或是電台的節目、開燈、關燈，甚至在開關窗戶、暖氣和空調之前，得先徵求他人的同意，這是基本的禮貌(這時請用May I~?或是Do you mind if~?)。
news 是uncountable noun(不可數名詞)，要注意。指一件一件的消息時，我們用的是a news item或a piece of news。至於news reporter(記者)和newscaster(新聞播報員)，大家應該都已經知道了。
