Marcie and Melissa have even more questions for Brittany as we dive deeper into why we are doing the podcast, what does it mean to be woke and how being a specific race isn't a political talking point.  What does it mean to be woke to you?  Is talking about race being political?

Melissa talks about an internship in one of the most touristy areas of Florida.  We discuss deeper assimilation and code-switching.  These years truly define us and our experiences are like scars on our hearts.  Each week, we learn more and more about the day to day racism that Melissa and Britt dealt with growing up with "friends".  We talk about what it means to REALLY be someone's friend and how knowing someone of color doesn't mean you're not a racist.  Getting real on friendship.

Melissa, Marcie and Brittany discuss their hometown and childhood experiences as well as what we define as a friend.  They dig deep on how where they grew up influences how they think, built relationships and how different each of us experienced friendship with people of different races (or lack thereof).
