Erin Wilmer is a native of Pensacola Florida, a graduate of Booker T Washington High, and Alumnus of Southern Illinois University. She immediately enlisted in the US Navy at the age of 17, and served 24 years of Honorable Service. She is a three time recipient of the National Defense Wartime Service Medal for service during Desert Shield, Desert Storm, and Operation Iraqi Freedom, all this while earning her Bachelor's Degree in Education and Training.
