Amina built a successful career as a photographer and filmmaker in the Canadian film and television industry. With fifteen years of experience, she felt compelled to pay it forward by helping young women in Uganda gain a foothold in the industry.

Through her work, Amina discovered that the challenges women face in securing paid work in male-dominated media spaces are widespread across Africa. What began as a small initiative has grown into a transformational movement, with an exciting expansion to Tanzania in November 2023 and plans for further expansion across Africa, targeting areas with the greatest need.

Amina speaks to aspiring photographers, youth, and older women about our work and the global struggle for gender equality. Our mission inspires systemic change in Africa and Canada, where we strive for equality.
