Women lifers across the United States and specifically here in the state of New Jersey are serving life without parole sentences for taking the life of their abusers in the act of self defense. Victims should not die in prison for wanting to live.  I hope by using my platform and voice to air the survivors of domestic violence stories and having their voices heard; can affect change in how victims of abuse are treated in the criminal justice system. Prayerfully we can help put an end to the practice of criminalizing self-defense for battered women, and put an end to making survival a crime.
