1 - This episode was recorded over the course of several sessions and so the audio quality fluctuates a bit different segments it evens out after a while so thank you in advance for rolling with us through that. With that said there are unfortunately some words that get a bit distorted mainly during our discussion of the third song on the album “Diddy Bop” I was talking about how that song makes me feel like I’m spending time at my grandma’s house and playing outside and being a kid in ways that I really couldn’t as much when I was younger due to medical issues. I don’t know If that was clear in the session so I wanted to Highlight that.
2- There are parts in the episode wherein crystal and I flow through each song without saying the name of it at the beginning. So I will be offering Time Stamps in the description to help ya’ll stay with us. And if you are listening on Anchor the Song Names will pop up with each section
3- We also have a Content Notice, In this discussion of Noname’s Mixtape Telefone we explore themes such as death, gun violence, sexual assault, racism, substance use and abuse, and political persecution. We don’t engage in graphic discussions of these things but I wanted to let ya'll know what was coming. I enjoyed this conversation so much and I hope other folks get to enjoy it too but even with that Please take care of yourself. If you aren’t in the headspace to listen to something with those themes we’ll catch you next time! We’re excited to bring more community content to ya’ll in the future!
That's it for this disclaimer! Crystal and I jump right into it so I hope you are as psyched as we are to discuss this album. If you haven’t heard it yet Telefone is available on Youtube and Spotify. Check it out before you listen or just jump in and hear our thoughts. Either way, I hope you enjoy the Episode. Bye for now, ya’ll - Sariah
