Episode 77 - Dr. Scarlett Horton, “A New Dimension of Ministry”

__________⁣

“For yourself, stand fast in all that you are doing, meeting whatever suffering this may involve. Go on steadily preaching the Gospel and carry out to the full the commission that God gave you..” (2 Timothy 4:4-5)

How can we encourage a woman to carry out her ministry at a time when she feels the bottom has dropped out of her life? Divorce is devastating, but it is compounded in ministry when it also includes the loss of livelihood, community, or even reputation. Often, these women suffer in silence without access to resources to help them.

In this episode, Dr. David Horton interviews Dr. Scarlett about her life and calling to the ministry. They also share a new dimension of Dr. Scarlett's Grace Counseling ministry directed especially to minister's wives facing the heartbreak of betrayal, loss of family and ministry. Together they share their vision to help these often forgotten women to find hope for their future. Let your faith be increased as you listen.

Episode 74 - Dr. Scarlett Horton, “Women in Full Time Ministry”

__________⁣

“Now I commend to you our sister Phoebe, who is [also] a minister {(diakonos): “servant,” “minister,” “attendant,” “deacon.”} of the assembly in Cenchrae, so that you may welcome her in the Lord in a way worthy of the holy ones, and may assist her regarding whatever thing she may need from you; for she has been a protectress {(prostatis): “protectress,” “champion,” “leader,” “someone at the forefront.”} of many, myself included.” (Romans 16:1-2)

The Apostle Paul considered this woman ⁣ — Phoebe ⁣— as a sister, and a colleague worthy of honor in the churches. It is likely that she was the Pastor over the church in Cenchrae, and was entrusted to deliver Paul's letter to the church in Rome. She was a Woman of Substance.

In this episode, Dr. Scarlett teaches on the different ministry offices, and how women are included in their numbers; they are gifts given from our ascended Savior to be received and enjoyed (Ephesians 4:8-16). Dr. Scarlett encourages women who feel a call to ministry to obey their high call without doubt or fear. Your faith will be ignited as you listen.
