Yes! in 2007, I was the designer on a show called Marriage Under Construction (you might recognize the homeowner Vanessa who was on Pretty Little Liars, Hair on Broadway, and currently on Blue Bloods). This incredible opportunity launched my design and television career, moving me into roles both in front of and behind the camera. I have worked as the art director on HGTV shows like For Rent, The Expandables, and with the dynamic duo of Jonathan and Drew from The Property Brothers. I’ve appeared on shows like The Marilyn Denis Show, The Goods, and Breakfast Television.

Yes, I am the proud mom of 9 children, ages 12 and under. I am also the proud owner of a Ford Transit Wagon and have enough hand-me-down clothes to open a department store.

This is a question I get asked quite frequently, and I answer it pretty candidly here. But what is important for you to know, is that for MANY MANY MANY years I struggled. Struggled to the point of absolute burnout, and an epic minivan meltdown when I decided it would be a good idea to bring a baby just DAYS out of the hospital to a messy construction site because I put immense pressure on myself to keep on top of work.

For the first 5 years of my motherhood career, I projected success. But on the inside I was crumbling under immense pressure I was putting on myself to please everyone else other than myself. I had it in my head that the only way to be successful as an entrepreneur was to work around the clock, hustling hard ALL THE TIME. And it nearly cost me the relationships that matter most.

In 2015, Karen Peterson received a diagnosis of stage 1 triple-negative breast cancer. Soon following, she endured several rough treatments and received the news that she was cancer-free, but she was still worried cancer would make a devastating return. She spent the next year researching different treatments, clinical trials, and care teams. Founder and Chief Patient Advocate of Karen’s Club, https://www.karensclub.org/ , Karen Peterson were inspired to help other patients of color understand the complex, confusing world of clinical trials. A Stage IV Triple Negative breast cancer survivor, Karen is a founding member of Foundation Medicine’s Patient Community Council,  consultant for Blue Note Therapeutics, and a Cancer Research Institute – Immuno Advocate.

Karen was the featured patient speaker at the Biden Cancer Initiative’s 2019 presentation at ASCO, and the 2020 Inaugural AACR Cancer Disparities Progress Report presented to Congress. Her inspiring story has been shared with Cure, Essence, Health, and People magazines as well as ABC Radio Networks “Perspective” and The Today Show.

In 2021, Karen successfully completed the exclusive Robin Hood/Blue Ridge Labs Fellowship Program. Now she’s working on a stand-up comedy routine!

Lillie Manon is a Nurse Anesthetist by trade who has always had and passion for real estate. She has been in the real estate space for just over 10yrs and is historically a buy-and-hold investor got her to start house hacking after college.

Silvia, also known as VIA, has modeled her whole life. She has appeared in music videos, acted in independent films, and also in major Holly Wood films. She has interviewed many celebrities such as the Grammy award winner from the R&B group, 112, lead singer Slim, former New England Patriot, and now ESPN analyst & WBZ-TV Boston telecasts Tedy Brushci, along with many other professional athletes.

Dr. April Kapu is an acute care nurse practitioner and was recently appointed as Associate Dean for Clinical and Community Partnerships, Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. Prior to her role as dean, she served as an associate chief nursing officer for advanced practice nursing, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. There she led as a nursing executive for the health system, leading a nationally recognized advanced practice program, establishing innovative, high quality, and value-driven advanced practice healthcare services. Dr. Kapu is a Professor of Nursing and educator in Vanderbilt's DNP program. She has led several grant-funded research projects, has presented often for national and international conferences, has authored chapters in advanced practice nursing textbooks, and has published manuscripts in numerous peer-reviewed medical and nursing journals.  She holds several professional roles including Fellow for the Society of Critical Care Medicine, Fellow for the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and Fellow for the American Academy of Nursing. Prior to being elected as president for AANP, Dr. Kapu served as Tennessee State Representative and later as Region 4 Director for the AANP Board of Directors. She is an active member of the Tennessee Nurses Association, served as past chair for the TN Government Affairs Committee and TN APRN Committee, and represented TN NPs on the TN Governor's special commission focused on pain and addiction treatment education. She has chaired or has served as a member of several interprofessional healthcare boards and committees. Dr. Kapu has received numerous awards including:  VUMC "Transformational Nurse Leader of the Year" and Tennessee Hospital Association's "Nurse of Clinical Distinction". Dr. Kapu holds both a master's and doctoral degree in nursing from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing.

Kelley Allen has been casting your favorite reality, digital, and development projects for over 15 years! The African American, Los Angeles native is no stranger to the entertainment industry; at the age of 9, she began working as a child background actor in movies like "Friday," "Devil In a Blue Dress," "Toys" and TV shows like "The Steve Harvey Show," "Moesha" and "The Jamie Foxx Show" just to name a few.  She ultimately landed behind the camera where casting talent came naturally to her. Casting projects like E! Network's hit show "Botched," Gordon Ramsay's: "24 Hours to Hell & Back," MTV's "Are You The One," OWN's "Ready to Love," Bravo's "Married to Medicine," and TLC's "Extreme Sisters", just to give you a slight range of Kelley's casting experience. Kelley often jokes about the fact that she has actually interviewed a Vampire! (He lives in Brooklyn!)
