Money has not solve the poverty crisis. Importation of food does not solve the hunger crisis Food Revolutions of modern Agriculture have not solved food shortage. Food movements, like the Green Revolution & the New Green Revolution are a political strategies to exert and and maintain control over the global food systems which are monopolized by corporations and institutions in the Western countries. If we were to contribute even 20% of the trillions of dollars we spend on making wars to forge a pseudo-peace, toward educating developmental countries with the tools and knowledge for self-sustaining natural farming, we can begin to eradicate global hunger and nourish the impoverished.
While the food revolution of Organic farming methods are, without question, better for the environment, the soil, the people (often poor who toil sat the harvest), nature, the ecosystem, our forests, animals and our health. But the business of “organic foods” raise as many political, economical and spiritual questions as did the unsuccessful food revolutions that came before. The present economic business model for farming and harvesting organic produce is designed to be completely inaccessible to poor populations.
As organic food carves out a greater share of the market and international markets expand, the carbon footprint of organic food distribution may exceed that of conventional food.
