Matt Catalano is just your normal average run of the mill Western New Yorker… in that he is never satisfied with the Buffalo Bills and he will never stop supporting the Buffalo Bills. Which honestly is quite reasonable if you ask me. So what do we say to people who don’t learn from past mistakes. At least you’re not smart but I still love you. All kidding aside I knew who Matt was before I met him. Being a few years younger than me in a small school district with a sibling in my grade I knew the name and face. When he did finally arrive in high school and threw himself amongst the shenanigans and stupidity of the bravado and attitude of the wrestling team and came out the other side more sure of himself but still humble, we knew we had a good one in the mix. Like all things people split off and go their separate ways especially with the age difference but the appeal of small town life drew me back and luckily I got to reconnect with Matt, and over the years hilarity and shenanigans have ensued. Enjoy a small moment of time of his life and sorry for the ending where we started to have technical difficulties.

BODE’S BACK BITCHES!!! And this time he’s pissed!!! Just kidding Jake Bode is just your average run of the mill dude who didn’t fall victim to the societal traps laid before him in high school of going on to higher education or dead-end factory work. He yearned for something simpler and with more emotional baggage. He wanted to fuck shit up and jump out of airplanes.

So, he joined the ARMY, and became Airborne Infantry with the historic and prestigious 82nd Airborne out of Ft Bragg in Fayettville (Fayet-Nam) NC. As with all military service hilarity ensues, and life happens and comes at you fast. Jake succeeded at all trials thrown his way both by foreign enemies and the self-inflicted/self-imposed kind. All in all, when you see him on the street or somewhere if he doesn’t have a big smile on his face, I don’t know what to tell you because that’s how I always see him and remember him. In his spare time he can be found getting down on some D&D and preparing for the next fall archery season, wish him luck as he put in for the Elk tag lottery.

Enjoy this story of a great man, a great friend, and a great American.

Also if he likes you as a human being he will force feed you pierogi the way the French force feed geese to fatten their liver for Foie Gras… it’s a sign of love among our people.

Meet Jo Hyatt!!!!!! Jo was raised in Erie, PA where in her youth she went to college for a wee bit and dropped out to pursue her true calling. Yes, you heard it here first, it’s that Jo Hyatt comedienne extraordinaire!!! She bounced around the greater and lesser Los Angeles area pursuing that while working other odd jobs. Eventually she settled back into the hustle and bustle of college life and graduated Magna Cum Lauda from Edinboro University with a degree in Health Communications. While attending university she had an internship at an HIV clinic where she counseled individuals on safer practices. Following college Jo was a Licensed insurance agent in the states of Washington and Oregon where she focused on Veterans and their families helping them get supplemental and burial coverages.

Around this time is when she suffered a brain injury that left her on her ass physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually and financially. It was from this state that the phoenix was reborn from the ashes and Jo went from being a patsy and another number of the western medicine industrial complex and into her quest for a healthier life. That quest has led her down the paths of clean eating, (hashtag vegan AF BRO), marijuana, self care, mental health, and Buddhism. She has lived a life many would describe as adventurous and unconventional, and it has brought her to where she is today.

How would you describe someone who is capable of damn near anything? A living renaissance man and intimidating Viking frame, who also happens to be the absolute nicest person you could ever meet? While I am genuinely struggling to define my friend Kahl, it is safe to say that he is smart, and highly motivated. Growing up in the same town we met early in life, thanks to cub scouts we were in the same pack. We shared many classes growing up together and ran parallel lives in the same social scene. Parallel may be the wrong word as small-town life is more akin to a skipping rock. Safe to say he is probably the person who I have known the longest that I still speak to, outside of my family.

We could list the dichotomies that he is but they are to numerous and its truly a limiting approach to paint someone as such. He has high aspirations not just for himself but also for the world. If you’ve ever seen the words KAHL4PREZ on a dollar bill or randomly strewn about the internet. This is the Kahl in question. Lover of life and a friend to the world. Down to earth and able to navigate the ethereal like a butterfly. Able to inform you of the esoteric, the nuanced, and the mundane of life. Get a helmet, a notepad, and listen to this one several times.
