Unfortunately, many church close each year because they fail to reach the next generation. Learning how to come alive in Christ is as simple as responding in obedience to his word.

Rev. Matt Miller (Revelation 2:18-29) The church in Thyatira needed to hear the truth of God’s word. Unlike the church in Ephesus who struggled in love for one another but challenged the false teaching, Thyatira was growing in love and charity but influenced by a false teacher. We must hold both of these great realities together if we hope to stand strong in the midst of an ever changing culture that idolizes sex and often devolves into disunity.

Following Jesus also puts us at odds with a culture that wants to assimilate us with its own values. The church in Smyrna was going to face opposition, suffering and persecution. If we choose to pursue Christ we will too.
