Welcome to Woody! This week, Martin continues our study of the letter of 3 John, where John encourages the church to walk in truth, show Christlike hospitality, and imitate what is good.
In today's passage (v 11-13) we hear about Demetrius, who is spoken of very highly by John – as opposed to Diotrophes who is not. What reputation are we cultivating for ourselves as followers of Jesus? Are we known for our love for each other and for God? Are we known for our faithful following of God's word or our generous spirit? It is not so that we can be proud or raise ourselves up – rather, as Paul prays in Galatians, that may we only boast in "the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ".

Welcome to Woody! This week, we’re continuing our journey through John’s letters with a look at 3 John—a brief but sharp encouragement to imitate what is good and walk in truth.
In his letter to Gaius, John contrasts two ways of living: the open-hearted faithfulness of Gaius and the proud, divisive spirit of Diotrephes. The message is clear—our lives should reflect Christ, not just in belief, but in how we treat others, welcome strangers, and honour godly leadership.
In a world full of loud voices and competing influences, who are you imitating?

Welcome to Woody! This week, we explore the brief but powerful Second Letter of John, where Martin reminds us of the timeless command to love one another—not blindly, but wisely.Through just 13 verses, John urges the church to walk in truth, love sacrificially, and remain alert to deception. Love, he says, is not just kindness—it’s obedience to Christ. In a world filled with twisted truths and subtle lies, we’re called to love boldly and stand firm in God’s word.If you're wondering how to love well in a confused world, this message is for you.Speaker: Martin PearceConnect with us:🌐 https://www.woodybap.org.uk/woodybapcardiff📸 https://www.instagram.com/woodybapcardiff📘 https://www.facebook.com/woodybapcardiff

Welcome to Woody! This week, we’re in Esther 9—a day of unexpected victory, where God turns the tables and delivers His people. What was meant to destroy them becomes a moment of justice, joy, and lasting celebration. But this isn’t just about ancient enemies—it points us to Jesus, who faced the ultimate battle on our behalf and won. In Him, sorrow becomes joy, fear becomes peace, and judgment gives way to grace. If you’ve ever struggled with the tension of justice and mercy, or wondered how God deals with evil—this message is for you.Speaker: Annabel ChalonerConnect with us:🌐 https://www.woodybap.org.uk/woodybapcardiff📸 https://www.instagram.com/woodybapcardiff📘 https://www.facebook.com/woodybapcardiff
Welcome to Woody! This week, we continue through the book of Esther and reach a powerful moment of reversal and redemption in Esther 8.Evil had written the script—but God rewrites the ending. Through Esther’s courage and Mordecai’s wisdom, the people of God move from mourning to joy, from threatened destruction to divine protection. What seemed irreversible is suddenly turned around. This isn’t just ancient history—it’s a glimpse of the gospel. Like Esther, Jesus interceded for His people. Like Mordecai, He was raised up—not just to save one nation, but to bring salvation to all who believe. So, what impossible thing are you facing right now? What feels too broken to fix? This message is your reminder: God still works in what seems hopeless. He still redeems what looks lost.Let’s be people who speak up, who act justly, and who trust God to do what only He can do.Speaker: Pastor JoshConnect with us:🌐 https://www.woodybap.org.uk/woodybapcardiff📸 https://www.instagram.com/woodybapcardiff📘 https://www.facebook.com/woodybapcardiff
