To lie in wait in a place of concealment especially for an evil purpose.

2. The snake lurks beneath the bushes, waiting for the perfect time to deliver a lethal strike to its prey.

Concealment by means of disguise.

1. “Marriage would be a form of camouflage… and a way for me to continue my contract killing!” - thought Yor after proposing to Loid.
2. Snipers often wear ghillie suits in wild environments to conceal their positions.

To promise the performance of something important; to swear an oath.

1. “In good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, I pledge myself to you.” - said Loid as he proposed to Yor with a grenade safety ring.
2. Brienne pledged her sword to lady Catelyn and vowed to bring her daughters back safely.
