The God of Israel...the God of Jerusalem. These are familiar phrases, but in the New Covenant, what do they mean? They mean us, the Church--and we are called to be citizens first of that Church and only circumstantially of our physical homeland. How often do we have that backwards, though?

Jesus told the disciples that "whatever sins you forgive will be forgiven and whatever sins you retain will be retained." Not long after that, the first martyr forgives his murderers...and we all know who was in the crowd of them, complicit. What if Steven hadn't forgiven them, then?
