In today’s study we’ll find that the Apostle Paul's corrective instructions go against the status quo. No doubt a number of people were upset: Those who neglected evangelism, the men who worshipped while engaged in bitter disputes and the women who were usurping authority in the church. But Paul's instructions were necessary to help the church at Ephesus become stable and strong. Taking steps to correct wrong directions and false doctrine are never easy. But when executed with the help and direction of the Spirit of God, they can be health-producing to a congregation that has been ill. Let’s talk about it. Thanks for listening, God bless you! Today is the last sermon in our series Getting There. It’s been an amazing journey over the past 7-weeks talking about ways that we can grow in our spiritual walk. We finish this series with a powerful message about the testing of our faith and why that is important. And to help us we’re going to talk an amazing man named Hezekiah who was tested by the Lord repeatedly. Did he succeed or did he fail? Let’s find out. Thanks for listening. God bless you! Do you remember your life before Christ? What you were, what you did? Paul remembered...he remembered how he was a blasphemer and persecutor of Christ and His people. But he also remembered how God showed him mercy, saved and changed his life and gave him a new direction. Then Paul, in turn, encouraged Timothy and gave him some important instructions to help him deal with issues within the church in Ephesus. Ready to find out more? Awesome...then let’s go. Today we’re going to examine Psalm 23. Since this psalm is so familiar, we’re in danger of missing the depth of its meaning. And because its setting is in the world of sheep and shepherds many of us city folks can slide right past its richness. Come journey with us as we discover The Lord Who Leads. Thanks for listening. God bless you! To find out more about our church please go to www.whccnb.org.
Welcome to our new 12-week Bible study on 1 & 2 Timothy. Today we begin with 1 Timothy 1:1-11. One of the repeated and stressed themes in 1 Timothy is the tight connection between belief and behavior, or teaching and practice. Sound, or “healthy,” teaching leads to godliness while false teaching is unproductive at best and damning at worst. From the onset of the letter, Paul charges Timothy to “instruct certain people not to teach any different doctrine.” Who are these “certain people” and what is Timothy supposed to say? It’s all right here so let’s get to it. Thanks for listening, God bless you! To find out more about our church please go to www.whccnb.org.
A very happy and blessed Father’s Day to all the dads as well as to those who have had to do or are doing “double duty” so-to-speak being both mom and dad—we love you and are grateful to you! Today we’re going to talk about Fathers and Ps 128. In this psalm you’ll see that God tells earthly fathers He wants to bless their families, make them strong and to make their homes to be safe and happy places. But how does God do that and what is the fathers role in it all? Stay with us and let’s find out. Thanks for listening. God bless you! To find out more about our church please go to www.whccnb.org.
