In John 6 many of Jesus' disciples were offended at what He was teaching and so they "went back, and walked no more with him." People don't like to hear hard things. We tend to get offended and break ties with people before we understand. And we generally don't stay connected long enough to find what will bring us more life and make our lives better. Our biggest adversary in life is not the devil or other people, it is our own self.

Prayer: Communicating with the Lord. Praise is a type of communication. Praise changes the atmosphere.

In this service we consider Noah and how one person can truly make a difference.

Light is to walk in! You can't walk where another walks without knowing what they know and being directed by the Holy One.

Jacob shows us an example of when we try to control, connive and deceive to get ahead we will lose in the end. Jacob wrestles all night and will not let go until he is changed (blessed). He is changed and renamed Israel. His source of strength and way of doing life changed. Stop trying to control everything and start trusting in God.

When we don't know our purpose and the why behind it, It is easy to do nothing. If we are going to do the will of God, sometimes we have to burn the ships so there is no way out.

The Bible says walk with the wise and you will become wise. Pastor said get around people who have what you need and you will learn from them and get what you need. Remember we all need mentors in our lives. God wants to use us to help others, but we are not their source, God is. Pastor reminded us that how we do, what we do matters. As parents we are a part of the building process for our kids, we are not every part. God will use others as well. Be mindful of eternal things, and take heed how we build.

God desires for us to walk in the light. He has no part in darkness at all. There was a time we lived according to the spirit of this world, but as children of God this is not that time anymore. Pastor reminded us that coming to the light is a choice. Some don't come to the light because they like their evil ways. The closer we get to the Father, the closer we get to each other.

A $20 dollar bill's worth is the same if it is crisp, clean and without wrinkles. It is also the same if it has been crumpled, torn, and stained. Scars speak of what was but has been healed. You are valuable.

If there is anyone in the world today that should be kind, trustworthy, loyal, have good judgement it should be a child of God. We should allow the light of Christ to shine through us.
