Have you ever had your child accuse you of not loving them? Have you ever accused your own parent of that? Sadly, we live in a broken world and there are parents who have allowed their own brokenness to destroy their relationship with their children. But, as Pastor Richard will point out today, most parents, while imperfect, deeply love their children and are trying to do what’s best. Last time we were together, Pastor Richard addressed wives submitting to their husbands. A bit of a challenging subject in this day and age. But as we continue to examine Paul’s teaching on marriage in Ephesians, we’ll encounter an even bigger challenge. He calls husbands to love their wives as Christ loves the Church. That love requires giving of yourself fully – even unto death – even in the moments she falls short of her calling.

Submission requires a lot of humility. Especially in cases where the authority is imperfect – so essentially every case. In today’s message, Pastor Richard will address marriage and how this God-ordained sacrament was designed to reflect the relationship between Jesus and the Church. Wives are to submit to Christ, and if it doesn’t dishonor that relationship, they’re called to submit to their husbands next, who are called to be servant leaders.

God’s presence is undeniable. People try to write it off as just emotions and chemical reactions in the brain, but if you’ve experienced it, you know there’s more to it. It’s not something measurable and words struggle to describe it. As Pastor Richard will point out in today’s message, a Church without the presence of the Holy Spirit is just a social gathering, but when His presence is there, it’s life-changing and life-giving.
