Taking the HHISS out of the hysteria around snakes in Zambia!

Zambia is the forgotten country in Africa, so on this episode we give the spotlight to Ken Waterhouse from Helping Hands in Snake Safety, to give them the stage to let us know about the snake human conflict with in the country! With the lack of even estimated data and cheap antivenom Zambia is in need of help, and after Ken moved to the country he has done numerous actions under the HHISS banner to help combat the snake human conflict!

Also as we talk about Ken is risking his life as he is allergic to ALL snakes not just from being bitten but holding the snakes too!

Deep in the Sonoran desert (in one of the fastest growing cities in the world) lives a guy who studies a "colony" of tiger rattlesnakes that are booming in population! This guy, Matt Goode, is a well known Professor at the University of Arizona. He's been studying these animals for nearly 20 years and on this episode, Matt shares his research and discusses the reasons for these booms, along with other stories about tracking snakes across the world!

Fighting a lonely Battle, Standing strong against all odds - Thea Litischka-Koen

In E-swatini one business woman is taking the fight to snakebite all by herself! So in this episode we gladly invite Thea, to tell us all about snakebite with in E-swatini (formally Swaziland,) and how it is effecting the people of this country. With her self funded foundation, this incredible woman is helping save lives on a daily basis, training doctors on bite treatment to helping bite victims get through the horrific traumas of snakebite!

Her passion and heart felt stories flood through when listening to this episode and her genuine desire to help people is such a common thing with in these snakebite communities!

Co-Operation and Data are going to go a long way to helping Snakebite - Health Action International

With many different snakebite initiatives it is sometimes hard to know where to start regarding gathering data and information. So today Sophie Von Bernus joins us from Health Action International to talk all about the work on snakebite that they are doing! With a few projects in countries like Uganda they are really starting to gather real world information and data to how is best to tackle the snake bite issues with in these countries. Medical training and treatments seems more and more likely to be a big problem in this world wide snake bite crisis!

Health Action International are an amazing organisation that are really making steps forward in multiple medical fields!
