I’ve been studying the book of Acts and it is simply amazing to me that the church rose to the heights it did prior to the internet, television, newspapers, radio, and other forms of media. It was a word of mouth endeavor and rose from a few men fueled by the Holy Spirit walking mile after mile down dusty roads from town to town and occasionally riding in ships to distant lands and preaching the Gospel to anyone who would listen. The Bible is clear that we should be humble. A famous song has lyrics that indicate “that it’s hard to be humble when you are perfect in every way”. I suppose if someone is “good looking” it would be difficult not to know it. I’m sure that most beautiful people have been told that they are beautiful most of their lives beginning when they were old enough to talk. The same holds true for being smart. So, Pope Francis has officially changed the wording in the Bible because he believes it is misleading. The change he adopted is in the Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6:13 that replaces “lead us not into temptation” with “do not let us fall into temptation.” The Pope believes the new version is better because the first translation implies that God leads people into temptation, an action that is against His nature as a good and holy God . . . https://www.wordsfortheday.com/index.php/2019/06/dangerous-turf/
