I don’t know at what point during my life I obtained what I call the “God perspective” but it has been with me now for a very long time. People often ask me what I did in my career. I answer that I was an entrepreneur and I founded different companies. Invariably I’m asked how I came up with ideas for the different companies that I founded. My response has always been that I looked for a need, something that was needed but was not being done well by other companies, or that there was plenty of room for another company because of the huge demand. Well, Monday morning I go under the knife. I don’t know how long it might be before I can write another WFTD, I’m told at least a month, but we will see. I have mixed emotions about it. I have a very close friend whom I have been trying to convince to do something for the Lord. He has made tremendous strides in the past year in his personal spirituality and is hungry for the Word of God and has been feasting on it. The Lord has rewarded him by blessing him beyond measure in most every area of his life and he is enjoying the peace of God for the first time since I’ve known him. But it has ended there. One common theme among those who mentioned they would miss WFTD was the straightforward way God and His word are presented. The Apostle Paul, one of my all-time favorite Bible heroes, told us to go forth and boldly preach the Gospel. Many of my friends and acquaintances refuse to do so. I have never received such a huge volume of heartwarming responses for Words for the Day as I received after Friday’s post. It began within minutes of my post going live and has continued through today. I have heard from folks in most every state in the United States and even in such faraway places as Pakistan, Africa, and China. I had no idea that so many readers cared so much about it.
