Art and Suetta Clawson spoke for our missions Sunday.
Art & Suetta grew up going to rival high schools in northwestern PA but met and married in south Florida when Art was serving in the Air Force. They have been married for 38 years and both are graduates of Warner University. Art has gone on to receive two Masters and an Education Specialist Degree from Florida State University in Higher Education and International/Intercultural Education and Suetta has a Masters from Nova Southeastern University in Counseling Psychology. They have both worked in a variety of settings. Art has been a Program Coordinator with the Epilepsy Foundation, the Executive Director of the Florida AHEC (Area Health Education Centers), the Director of the Division of Emergency Medical Services and Community Health Services in the Florida Department of Health, the Rural Health Director at Florida State University College of Medicine, the Vice President for Advancement at Warner University, the Haiti Disaster Relief Coordinator for Church of God Ministries and now the Africa Liaison with Global Missions. Suetta has served in various Administrative Assistant positions and has her licensure in Nursing Home Administration (FL). Currently she has an on-line business: Feasting on the Word, selling scripture dinnerware and serves with Art in the Africa Liaison position.
Over the years they have served together in ministry; pastoring in Virginia, on staff and faculty at Warner University, as missionaries to Haiti and currently as Africia Liaisons.
While they have no children, they have finished raising three of Art’s younger brothers through their teen years and have many god-children.
Three of their life verses are:
Ephesians 5:15-16 ,“Live life with a due sense of responsibility; not as men (and women) who do not know the meaning and purpose of life, but as those who do. Make the best use of your time despite the difficulties of these days.” (J B Phillips transl.)
Ecclesiastes 11:6, “Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let not your hands be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well.” (NIV)
Ephesians 3:20, “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen. (NIV)
They enjoy life and living and do so to the fullest.
