    • 45. Lord, teach us to pray: Looking to Jesus to Overcome Temptation

      Luke 11:1-4

       🙏🏻 fear prays reactionary prayers

🙏🏻 faith prays with authority and expects things to change to look like the promised God

👉🏻 test - a solicitation to obedience that results in a blessings (Tony Cooke)

      📖 Genesis 22

📖 John 6:1-6 - shows where my faith is at

      📖 1 Peter 1:7

Do you have to study to pass a test (in school, etc.)? No, but it’s usually a lot easier and better results if you do.

👉🏻 temptation - leaving God’s best for my life, usually disguised as “harmless, no big deal or every is doing it” aka sin

Not a sin to be tempted, but a sin to give in.

That is why Jesus is telling His disciples to “flee even the appraisal of evil.” 📖 1 Thessalonians 5:22

      📖 James 1:13

      this phrase denotes
      Surrender
      Humility
A true desire to turn from sin, not just because “you might get caught”
It is asking for the wisdom, grace and strength to not give into temptation an turn entirely away from the sin that entangled me in the past.

      📖 Hebrews 12:1-2

The only way I can effectively and sustainably do this is to look at Him - LORD show me how to stay real, balanced and not fall into temptation.

    • 44. Lord, teach us to pray: Authority to Forgive

      📖Romans 8:1

      📖Romans 3:24-26 - it’s the Blood!

❤️ The proportion to which God extended forgiveness to me is the same I can extend to myself and others.

      Biblical forgiveness:

      📖Philippians 3:12-15

      ➡️ allows for closure

➡️ allows you to move on and not have the past weighing you down

Remembering the past is a trap and a day that the enemy steals from your life. 📖John 10:10

      📖Luke 10:19

      ▶️ Choose to forgive

▶️ Use your authority to forgive

▶️ Not something a believer can do on their own (need Father, Son & Holy Spirit)

▶️ we can help each other forgive by not feeding into the world’s system of offense

▶️ Don’t wait until you feel like forgiving

    • 43. Lord, teach us to pray: Living at Peace

      📖Hebrews 12:14-15

      📖1 John 3:14/ John 13:35

❤️Forgiveness is what God extended to us & it was the decision of Jesus to fulfill that purpose.

“On the night He was betrayed…”

“You will deny me three times…”

His own family didn’t believe He was God, James until after His resurrection…

      📖John 7:5

❤️Forgiveness is one of the numerous expressions of the love of God.

❤️A revelation of God’s love in the form of forgiveness is the only permanent and eternal antidote to condemnation.

    • 42. Lord, teach us to pray: Drinking Poison ☠️

      📖 Matthew 6:9-13, Luke 11:4

📖 1 John 1:5-9 - forgiveness is an everyday working of the Father, Son, Holy Spirit in the life of the believer

3D Salvation ☝🏻 part of - all working together, Romans 8:16

      📖 Mark 11:25-26

❌Forgiveness doesn’t mean you agree with that person’s beliefs or behaviors.

❌Forgiveness doesn’t mean you have to continually allow yourself to be put in toxic environments.

      ❌Forgiveness is not spiritual amnesia.

❌ Refusing to forgive is like drinking poison ☠️ and expecting the other person to die.

Artificial, MSG, additives  🤢 if you’re used to eating junk it takes a minute for your tastes buds and mind to catch up that that’s not really food or nourishing to your body
