Today's daily bible reading comes from Isaiah chapters 62, 63, and 64 as well as Mark chapter 14.  

Isaiah 62 is about Salvation! 

Isaiah 63 is about God's vengeance followed by Mercy 

Isaiah 64... I was moved by this very prayer-like chapter. In verses 5 through 9, an attitude about our sins is revealed. Recognizing our faults, our wrongdoings, and having the proper Godlike attitude towards them is something I know I need to work on. Being able to humble yourself to the point of surrender and give over 100% to the Lord; to be able to say sincerely, 'you are the Potter, I am the clay, You are our Father, we are the work of your hand'... If we all did this... we could change the world  

"Be not so terribly angry, O LORD, and remember not iniquity forever. Behold, please look, we are all your people"

Today's daily bible reading comes again from the book of Isaiah chapters 59, 60, and 61.

Today's daily bible reading comes from the book of Isaiah chapters 56, 57, and 58. 

Here are some thoughts/takeaways.  

Calling something holy, doesn’t make it holy. Aligning with God and HIS way will bring joy, peace, eternal rest, a relief or revival of the contrite heart, healing, restoration… 

NOT aligning with God = No joy, no peace, no eternal rest, no relief, no healing, no restoration 

Key verse: 58:6-8 Is not this the fast that I choose: to lose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke?  Isa 58:7  Is it not to share your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover him, and not to hide yourself from your own flesh?  Isa 58:8  Then shall your light break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring up speedily; your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard.  

This is at the very core of what Jesus taught us. A very real example of what it means to “love your neighbor”

Today's daily bible reading comes from the book of Isaiah chapters 53, 54, and 55 followed by Mark chapter 13.   

Isaiah 53 is arguably one of the most often read, quoted, and referenced chapters in the Bible. It clearly foretells the type of death, torture, and punishment that Jesus would endure on our behalf. 

Incredible! 

Chapter 54 is a plea from God to return to him and his promises to protect us.  Chapter 55 is an amazing and beautiful invitation from the Father to His children.   

In Mark chapter 13, we actually get a lot of things directly from Jesus. He speaks a lot about the immediate future that the Apostles would endure.  Your comments, questions, or suggestions are always welcome.

Today's daily bible reading comes from the book of Isaiah chapters 50, 51, & 52 followed by the book of Mark chapter 12. 

Isaiah chapters 50-52 definitely have a different feel as they are leading up to what could arguably be the most famous chapter in the bible, Isaiah 53.  

In Mark chapter 12 we get another collection of conversations that Jesus is having with different people. Beginning with the parable of the tenant farmers, Jesus tells this story about a man who had some farm property that he leased out to tenants. The tenants decide that they don't want to respect his ownership and refuse to give the owner his proceeds. He sends servant after servant who are rejected, or killed and finally he sends his son. They kill the son as well assuming that they would be able to claim the property as their own...  Jesus wasn't telling stories about rental law, no, he was trying to get people to realize that the people of Israel (the Jews) were those tenants. The servants He sent were the prophets, and the Son is Jesus himself.   

While not every detail about a parable will have a direct correlation to actual real-life events or people, there are certainly a lot in this one. If you'd like to discuss this more, please leave your comments below.

Today's daily bible reading comes from the book of Isaiah chapters 45 & 46 and Mark chapter 11.  

Takeaway of the day: From Isaiah 45 & 46 The prophecy of Cyrus: Cyrus was named by God as one who would bring back the children of Israel from captivity. That very man 150 years after that prophecy indeed rose to lead the Medo-Persian empire and conquered the Babylonian empire. Simply amazing!

Today's daily bible reading comes from the book of Isaiah chapters 43 & 44.   

Some takeaways/key verses from this reading: 

Key Verses from Isaiah 43 & 44 43:10-11 “…You are my witnesses, declares he LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me. 11) I, I am the LORD and besides me there is no savior.” 44:2 “Thus says the LORD who made you, who formed you from the womb and will help you…” 44:6 “…I am the first and the last; besides me there is no god.”

Today's daily bible reading comes from the book of Isaiah chapters 41 & 42.   

In this reading, we are blessed to see more insight into the nature/character of God. His relationship to his chosen people is inspiring, and his unhappiness when men choose to serve themselves or serve idols made of imperfect or perishable materials.  

In chapter 42, the mood changes a bit and we have another section of messianic prophecy referring to Christ as the Servant of God.

oday's daily bible reading comes from the books of Isaiah chapters 39 & 40, and Mark chapter 10.  

Takeaways from Isaiah 39 & 40 39) Ups & downs of Hezekiah… Pride and humility… Babylon was an enemy of Assyria, God had just wiped out 185k Assyrians… buttered up Hezekiah, “the enemy of my enemy…”. BUT why show off all of your wealth? The only rational answer is pride. After hearing the proclamation of Isaiah that Babylon would carry it all away though, Hezekiah looked at the bright side and said… at least there will be peace. 

40)Awesomely powerful praise and lessons about the Nature of God, insights into creation and so much more… This chapter deserves a re-read for sure!
