  • Church | One but Many

    Many times non-Christians ask us about how we have one Bible, one God but why are there different churches, ministries and denomination? We need to understand the diversity the Word of God is talking about. 

    1 Corinthians 12 in a description of the church as the body of Christ:

    - Verses 4 to 13: One Body

    - Verses 14 to 20: Many Members
    - Verse 21: Inter-dependency (we need each other)
    - Verses 22-25: Same Honor & Care
    - Verse 26: Participating & Sharing----more----

    The body of Christ need to be protected to present it to Christ when He comes back.  It is our  responsibility as being the members of this body.

    By:

    Being one body, having one head - Christ;
    As many members responsible for our role,
    Depending on each other,
    Giving same honor and care,
    Participating & sharing with each other.

    Mission:

    - Preach the Gospel

  • Church | Christ and the Church

    The term Church was first introduced in the Bible by our Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 16:18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.

    The word 'church' in the New Testament is translated from the Greek word 'ekklesia' which comes from two words 'ek' meaning 'out' and 'kaleo' meaning to 'call.' An ekklesia means "called out".----more----

    Paul writes six significant truths about church and Christ relationship in Ephesians Chapter 5:

    - Verse 23: Christ is the head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body, His church

    - Verse 24: Church is subject to Christ
    - Verse 25: Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her
    - Verse 26: He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word
    - Verse 27: He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle
    - Verse 29: but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church

  • Church | Bind and Loose

    Here are a highlight of the couple of things we need to do as a church when we come together in prayer:

    - Bind hatred and loose love

    - Bind discord (disagreement/conflict) and loose harmony
    - Bind sin and habits that hold people and loose salvation
    - Bind false teaching and loose sound doctrine
    - Bind demon of sickness and loose healing
    - Bind spirit of poverty and debt and loose scriptural blessings

  • Church | Authority of the Church

    Remember we are dealing with the power of darkness.  Satan and his company.  He has power.  His power is nothing in front of God.  But as a human, he can overpower us if we are not prepared. 

    Jesus, before His crucifixion realized the importance of laying the foundation for the church.  He visualized church among His disciples.  He called His disciples and gave them authority.----more----

    Luke 9:1 Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases.

    I believe the same authority Jesus gave to the disciples, He has given to the church. 

    Then He expanded the church by adding another seventy to the disciples.  And He gave them authority. 

     

    Luke 10:18-19 And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

    I believe the same authority Jesus gave to the seventy, He has given to the church. 

    - Authority over demons

    - Authority over sicknessness
    - Authority to trample on serpents & scorpions
    - And over all the power of the enemy

  • Church | Ark of Protection

    The ark that was built by Noah, the ark that protected Noah and his family when the whole earth was destroyed very well resembles the church in the New Testament. I strongly believe there is more than enough evidence that the ark of the Old Testament is the church of the New Testament.

    - Noah's ark separated the godly from the ungodly, the church is the threshing floor where the wheat is separated form the chaff----more----

    - Noah's ark protected the righteous seed of Noah, you seed, your children need to be protected, the only way to give that protection is to bring them into the church
    - Noah's job was to build the ark, it was up to God to destroy the wicked.  Church's responsibility is to save souls, God will decided the judgment
    - God asked Noah to work hard to collect food for one long year and to feed the animals. Church has to work hard to feed the souls if not, soul becomes weary and sorrowful.

    I thank God for our church.  I thank God for all the churches.  Let us be like Noah fulfilling the God given responsibility to the church so that we may be protected.

  • Church | A Dead Church

    One day some one came and visited what was known as Spurgeon’s Tabernacle and ask Mr. Spurgeon, what is the secret of your great ministry?

    Mr. Spurgeon replied, I can show you the secret, meet me at the Tabernacle early on Sunday morning.

    That Sunday, the visitor met Mr. Spurgeon and he took him to a small trap door behind the----more---- pulpit, as he lifted it, it opened into a room beneath the platform there over 100 people gathered and were praying for their pastor as he would preach that day. He said, that is the secret!

    - God wants us to pray for the leadership.  For your pastor.

    - God wants you to pray for the church as a whole - for the Word of God to be obeyed, to be united in love, for the involvement in mission, protection from the evil one, to experience the joy of the Lord, to sense the glory of God.
    - We need to protect the church from the death.

  • Nothing but Prayer | Reveals God's Plan

    In the OT God revealed His plan for His children through men and women of God who spent time with Him in prayer. 

    - God revealed Noah the coming destruction upon the land

    - God revealed Abraham the blessings His descendants are going to experience
    - God revealed Moses concerning the sufferings of God's children in Egypt
    - God revealed Samuel the one who is going to rule the nation of Israel
    - God revealed Elijah who is going to be the successor in His prophetic ministry

    We can go on and on...Prayer reveals God's plan for us today.

    Prayer not only opens the doors of heaven,

    not only shuts hell,
    not only changes things around us,
    not only releases the God's Power,
    prayer also reveals God's plan to us.

  • Nothing but Prayer | Replaces Anxiety

    Some one says, There is one disease that kills more than cancer. It kills more than tobacco. It kills more than HIV, war, and bad diet combination. 

    Do you know what it is?

    - The number one killer of people is stress.

    - Stress drives tobacco smoking, as well as alcoholism, addiction, and drug abuse in general.
    - Stress causes depression, anxiety, rage, war, and suicide.
    - Stress weakens both the human mind and the human body, thus allowing other genetic or infectious diseases to gain a foothold and further deteriorate the body.
    - Stress can lead to overeating, and bad habits like eating fast food regularly.
    - Stress can weaken marriages, families, and economies.----more----
    - Stress can break apart churches, communities, and political bodies.
    - Stress is our number one killer.

    There are worries in our heart for no reason.  Today God is telling us to stop worrying.  It doesn't matter if there is a reason for worry or not, God is telling you today to come out of your worry.
