Bienvenue sur cette édition du moroccan scott aujourd’hui on a m’a dit toi ça va très bien merci à lyon de m’avoir ici aujourd’hui je suis ravi de pouvoir échanger la victoire à ce que tous pour toi oui bien sûr alors donc je m’appelle mathias gaspari j’ai 24 ans et j’ai rejoint je suis arrivé en irlande il ya à peu près huit mois avant ça j’étais en train de faire mes études à montréal au canada où j’ai passé quatre ans et avant le talent et au canada j’ai passé dix ans en france à paris où j’ai fait à mon école et avant ça j’étais en argentine donc je joue je suis né buenos aires donc voilà un peu rapidement les étapes principales de ma vie est ce quelqu’un c’est la motivation pour alors donc moi j’ai comme je te disais j’ai étudié au canada à montréal et j’ai fait une business school là bas est en fait pendant à pendant ce set cette période de mes études j’ai eu l’opportunité de faire des signes d’un chip des stages pendant l’été dans une entreprise technologique à paris et qui m’a énormément plu et donc le secteur d’activité l’industrie m’a énormément plu donc voila quand j’ai quand j’étais en train de chercher un travail après après la fin de mes études j’ai commencé à regarder en europe où est-ce qu’ils avaient la plupart des entreprises technologiques à du secteur technologique et j’ai pu constater que beaucoup de ces entreprises là qui étaient tus m’intéressait beaucoup étaient en fait basé à dublin alors l’heure siège européen est à dublin et donc c’est pour ça que j’ai commencé à chercher un travail un travail à dublin et que et que j’ai pu ni va prendre la décision voilà de déménager ici à dublin comme toute sainte oui ca c’est toujours challenging en fait c’est toujours si jamais facile au début au début il faut toujours il faut toujours s’adapter et on a un peu peur je pense avant de faire le changement et de déménager dans un nouveau pays on parle pas la langue mais moi je pense que c’est essentiel de se lancer même si même si on a peur au final ça finit toujours pas mieux se passer que l’on pensait et si on y va et si on le fait au final voilà ans se lance et on se rend compte qu’on est capable de bien plus que de ce qu’on pensait par contre je pense que pour pouvoir vraiment s’intégrer et apprendre à nous est longue dans un drapé qui n’est pas le tien c’est important de ne pas rester que avec des gens qui parlent la langue donc par exemple à – est en français et venant ici à dublin pour pouvoir m’adapter à la nouvelle langue et pour pouvoir travailler de façon confortable en anglais c’est essentiel que je ne passe pas mon temps que avec des français donc ça pour moi c’était un des indes et des conseils à donner à des personnes qui voudraient éventuellement faire le changement et travaille dans une des rares pays où la langue n’est pas forcément sa langue natale quand est-ce que tu as pensé à double ou pense que tout parce qu’elles touchent tous fait les âges et pour tous bien en centre d avis oui mais tous pensent que tout pouvait aller en très bonne distance oui oui c’est vrai j’aurais pu aller à rester à montréal mais je voulais retourner en europe parce que ma famille a été en europe donc je voulais retourner en europe pour être plus proche de ma famille et parce que j’aime bien la vie en europe et du blanc particulièrement parce que voilà c’est là où il ya beaucoup de ces deux grandes entreprises technologiques qui font du software donc c’est ce qui m’intéressait mois particulièrement d’abord c’est pour ça que j’ai décidé de venir ici plutôt que de rester en amérique du nord où aller en france aussi d’accord et quant au boulot ici qu’est-ce que tout pour égaler la défense oui je pense que ici ici en irlande il ya beaucoup il ya beaucoup d’opportunités il ya beaucoup d’opportunités dans plein de différentes entreprises après ce qui est important c’est de c’est de savoir ce qu’on veut et de de faire beau de faire de la recherche et de s’assurer que qu’on ne connait sur la bonne voie et donc par rapport à ça je pense que c’est important de faire des recherches sur la compagnie mais aussi de parler à des personnes qui travaillent dans la compagnie parce que sinon on peut vite se retrouver dans une compagnie qui n’est pas forcément la bonne et juste parce qu’il ya parce que c’est un gros nom alors qu’en france il ya beaucoup d’entreprises a plutôt locale et les dons des entreprises françaises tu suis je suis plus un process de recrutement qui est qui est assez assez standardisés déjà donc par exemple pour moi en étant jeune diplômé généralement tu dois donc faire un stage dans cette entreprise là de fin d’études et après avoir fait un stage de fin d’études tu peux éventuellement être embauchés par cette entreprise a donc ça c’est une boîte qui est beaucoup plus traditionnelle alors qu en irlande c’est pas aussi très chiadé qu’en france puisque c’est une entreprise internationale et justement c’est c’est plus il ya plus d’opportunités où il ya plus de flexibilité dans le procès dure qu’une loi après ce qui est important c’est justement de deux de comprendre en fait ce que fait de ce que font les différentes boîtes et de parler à des gens qui travaillent dans ces boîtes là pour pouvoir pour pouvoir avoir une meilleure idée et quand toi ici quelque chose oui enfin les personnes sont différentes donc les personnes avec qui et avec qui tu es d’entretien sont très différentes en france encore une fois c’est à c’est assez traditionnel c’est assez classique en fait qu’on entretient donc il ya pas mal de distance entre entre la personne qui passe d’entretien et la personne qui fait faire un entretien et ils cherchent des points des points assez précis quand on vient en irlande pour passer les entretiens moi j’ai l’impression qu’on nous laisse plus parler on nous donnait ce projet initiative en le lestant donne plus de l’opportunité de parler de nous mais on s’intéresse plus acquis au nez qu’en tant que personne plus que simplement voilà l’expérience professionnelle que tu avais où les études que tu as fait auparavant donc moi j’ai trouvé ça sympa justement de pouvoir développer un peu plus d’an qu’il s’intéresse un peu plus à moi donc personne et non pas que à mon expérience et mes études que j’ai d’accord et enfin toi hein est-ce qu’il ya quelque chose qu il y a ouais je sais pas trop par rapport à ça parce que moi c’est mon premier emploi ici à dublin et donc j’ai pas j’ai même pas chercher un emploi en france a donc je connais pas trop comment ça se passe ni pour la négociation de salaire n’est pas les bénéfices et autres parce que j’ai jamais eu de proposition donc je serai bientôt et pour la france à dublin c’est assez compliqué à trouver il ya beaucoup de beaucoup de demandes parce qu’il y avait beaucoup de gens qui viennent à dublin pour chercher un travail ou pour travailler donc il ya beaucoup de demandes et pas beaucoup d’offres donc les prix sont généralement assez élevé et les appartements ne sont pas toujours dans un super bon état donc en fait c’est pour ça que j’ai trouvé ça c’est un peu frustrant mais bon moi j’ai eu de la chance parce que l’entreprise que j’ai que j’ai rejoint ici là à dublin matt m’a aidé avec avec ce processus là nous a supportés justement dans la recherche de notre appartement il nous a mis à notre disposition une agence qui nous a aidés à trouver un appartement donc voila moi j’ai eu de la chance après voilà si jamais il ya des gens qui sont intéressés justement par parent travaille à dublin et qui ont peur justement par rapport à ça mon conseil c’est de ne pas hésiter à demander à l’entreprise qui vont rejoindre si jamais ils ont des contacts dans l’hexagone des agences immobilières qui peuvent peut-être les aider justement à trouver un loyer parce que sinon c’est c’est pas facile en france ça dépend où tu vas travailler mais à paris les prix sont assez similaires par rapport à dublin par contre il ya plus d’offre donc moins de mal à trouver a pris un appartement donc voilà et qu’est ce qui se passe avec l’assurance par rapport à exactement [Musique] l’instance en france je pense que c’est social et il est privé oui encore là quand madonna et mais de celle de ceux qui s’aiment pas difficile pour vous quelques les autres c’est pour ça que je pense que si toi ne te tiens et après ça l’a offert 2 1 points cette importance qui a autant de localisation localisation tout doit faire quelques concessions pour trouver un ou aussi que l’assurance c’est un coup specific peu partout comme ça non c’est enfin moi c’est la même chose que toi montrer ici j’ai une assurance privée que l’entreprise m’a donné mais c’est vrai que c’est important de deux de négocier ça dans le contrat en france comme tu disais en fait ya une partie qui est publique mais aussi une partie qui est privé donc en fait tu peux avoir les deux je connais pas trop les spécificités par rapport à la france non plus parce que j’ai pas travailler là bas et donc j’ai pas eu à négocier ça mais oui effectivement je sais qu’à dublin généralement la plupart des entreprises te propose dans le package de bénéfices une assurance privée de tout ce qui est tapé quelques chocs coûte ici [Musique] non beaucoup d’alcool au bout de la gamme a5 différente parce que tout fait beaucoup des popes quelque chose je pense que en france non ici à beaucoup plus de pub en fait c’est vrai que l’activité pour tout le monde à dublin c’est d’aller après le travail au pub et boire des bières et dépendent et serra et regarder du sport du rugby mais c’était pour moi c’était pas un choc culturel moi j’adore justement c’est super sympa parce que les gens s’en sont bien ceux sont marrant il est bien sorti les aime bien s’amuser donc pour moi c’était pas un show culturel mais à mais le contraire j’apprécie bien après ce qu’est ce qui est bien justement avec les gens mais aussi c’est que c’est des gens qui sont qui sont super sociable et donc et donc qui est bien échangé avec avec des nouvelles personnes ils sont ouverts à rencontrer du monde et c’est donc donc ça si c’était c’était super et non pour l’instant j’ai pas trop de j’ai pas trop de points négatifs ou de deux choses auxquelles je pense que les gens doivent faire attention par rapport à l’irlande bon après il pleut beaucoup ont donc vraiment france aussi floue beaucoup donc et aussi il y as well [Musique] le premier conseil cessé de se lancer il faut pas hésiter il faut y aller moi je pense que la lèze qui nous bloque toujours c’est la peur qu’on a de l’inconnu et pau pour vaincre cette peur en fait on peut étudier on peut se préparer on peut lier on peut faire tout ce qu’on veut mais au final rien ne va nous préparer aussi bien que d’y aller et de avoir l’expérience sur place donc on fait de moi premier conseil c’est de se lancer et d’apprendre sur place pour moi c’est le meilleur là mais en face on apprendre après bien sûr je pense que c’est important de faire de se préparer comme pour tout voyage donc pour éviter justement d’avoir un gros choc quand on arrive donc de se renseigner par rapport à la culture donc d’essayer de lire par la culture essayé essayé de lire par rapport au climat parfois on veut non parfois je sais pas des pays sud-américains oui où il fait beau et chaud et caetera et toulon des joyeux est arrivée à dublin il pleut il pleut tous les trois jours ou tous les deux jours c’est un peu choquant donc en fait si bien dit il faut se renseigner par rapport à la température aussi je pense que c’est important de se renseigner par rapport à l’économie aussi du pays et à la politique à bord deux pour ce pour se préparer en bonne foi et après encore une fois on fait on peut on peut faire on peut faire plein de choses je pense dans de ce type là dans la préparation et un autre point que moi je pense toujours important c’est de parler avec housse et de rentrer en contact avec des gens de notre entourage ayant peut-être soit vécu là bas soit connaissent des gens qui ont vécu là bas comme ça quand tu parles avec des gens qui ont été à dublin et peuvent partager avec toi de leur expérience mais pour moi le fait l’essentiel encore une fois c’est c’est de découvrir par soi même et c’est à essayer de venir essayer de expérimenté soi-même et de te faire ta toc ton propre avis et 2 et 2 ha et flexibles ont fait une fois qu’on arrive et flexible et agile pour pouvoir justement comprendre ces différentes différences culturelles et ses subtilités entre les différentes cultures et pour moi c’est comme ça qu’on fini par vraiment pouvoir s’adapter à un nouveau pays à quand tu dis l’économie tout doux par 2 des salaires que c’est là il ya une différence entre les salaires non moi je parlais plus 2 macro économie du pays pour connaître un peu la situation mais ça peut être effectivement la macroéconomie peut être après l’ailier ou peut avoir un impact sur les salaires qui sont proposées aux aux gens dans ce pays non c’est toi c’est plutôt bon d’accord si tout ça ouf alors mathias il ya quinze ans il avait d’abord il avait dix ans à 10 ans j’ai donc mathias à 15 ans non franchement de jeu de faire exactement ce que j’ai fait d’être où elle d’esprit de aller à l’étranger – comme je te disais je suis arrivé en france quand j’avais 10 ans de l’argentine et je ne connaissais pas du tout la france j’étais pas forcément très préparée je ne parlais pas français je suis arrivé le premier jour dans ma dans ma classe de l’école et je ne comprenais rien du tout je ne comprenais rien du tout et je me rappelle que la professeure l’opposant m’interroger m’a demandé poser une question aux français et moi était tout le monde me regarde et moi j’aurai tout le monde et je savais pas quoi donc voilà c’est j’ai commencé comme ça et aujourd’hui je travaille en français et je parle français de façon native donc donc voilà c’est ça c’est grâce à l ouverture d’esprit donc moi mon conseil ça serait de dette ou vers des dettes ouvert d’esprit et de ne rien changer par rapport à ce que j’ai fait et des toujours essayé de prendre des opportunités qu’on a pour apprendre des choses une longue nouvelle ou pour aller dans une culture nouvelle et c’est jusqu’au final ça ne finit toujours par être à part payées par ebay paraître bénéficiant pour pour toi merci à toi aller si quelqu’un ouais alors soit par facebook mathias gaspari Welcome to this new episode of work on an abroad today we are where Antonius are you I’m good thank you so maybe we start by talking a little bit about where are you coming from why you decided to be working abroad okay I come from from Greece from the northern part I always wanted to leave that the place where I grew up very early when I was even before finishing school I wanted to go I wanted to see stuff I like the phrase you know citizen of the world so yeah first opportunity I want to study to the UK I stayed there five years and I missed the Sun went back to Greece for another five years and then because of the situation but the financial but you know the mentality situation that was created by financial I decided to leave just go and so I went I stayed for eight months in slovakia bratislava it was I didn’t think it through when I went there so that I didn’t I wasn’t a match with a culture there and then with my girlfriend at the time we visited Dublin for weekend we came here we liked that you know how the buildings were not very high so you can see the sky the war sky these two days so that was the trick yeah and then we decided to move here and after a few months I got a job and moved and we are here for five and a half years now and last year we decided to move to Germany Munich and it’s happening in I’m starting with Walter and first of September in the Munich office so yeah moving Weimar say that you were feeling that you would like to be abroad and working abroad since they any time of your life yeah so is this becoming you started to become an idea high school or university before even before yeah I didn’t I didn’t like the mentality of division that’s passed through school or societies like your Greek mr. Keyes you’re from Costa Rica is we are creating conflict you know even the flags I don’t agree I don’t fully agree I think that we’re all the same and this what I’m finding out living abroad that we are all the same at the end of the day we all what’s you know something on television we all hang out with friends we are all looking for love you know and so yeah I wanted to see different cultures starting in England was helped a lot in getting a different point of view for cultures so I saw the English culture when I was very young I went there just as I turned 18 I knew the Greek culture so it’s good to have different perspectives on you know your own culture how you grew up against something different and yeah as I grew up I realized that we’re very much the same and related to language like you will start it with the English your second language yeah yeah okay so how do you feel about okay well I mean the UK I would say you were being so you went back and then you say okay actually I would like to work on this language as well so how do you find you’ve been working in a language that is not your native so I’m right now I’m working in support and so I’m dealing with customers so you have to have you know a good command but generally I I don’t think that’s a problem I think most like most of the people that I interact are non-native English speakers and that’s part because to get all these professionals in Dublin you have to bring people from abroad so I don’t think language is a barrier I think it’s easy to you know do your work and then if you want to become better you can use that sometime after to improve the language but generally I don’t think it’s a problem and everyone is accepting like especially in cities like Dublin people expect that you know when they meet someone they might not be from there so I never had trouble with people understanding me we see the same case for the UK or but slava UK yes there are so many foreigners there not so much from Greece but Poland Czech Republic Nigeria many people in Slovakia yeah I didn’t have problems in Slovakia we were anywhere around with English and it was fine it wasn’t so easy but then again Bratislava it’s not it’s a city that you know there’s not been so many years since the US companies went there and they build their hubs so that’s a work in progress but generally you wouldn’t have problems generally people are friendly I think that’s the general rule and what about German now that you’re going to be Munich what’s your idea about German or English language there yeah that’s a good thing is that I’m going to be working in English in the office but both me and my wife you know we have the basic level of German like the crumb stuffer but I think when you live in a country like I like you know you can watch a serious and just have the subtitles it’s not so hard I think to learn a language German is close to ancient Greek so foundation yeah yeah but yeah I think if you if you’re open to it like I I was in Buenos Aires for two months and when I went there I didn’t speak in Spanish and after two months I could have conversations mostly just by watching you know Envy and being around people that talk the language so yeah well if you’ve been through several countries and if somebody’s looking for a way to find a job abroad what could be really deep for them mmm good tip so that that’s tricky for me because I think I’m not the candidate that everyone is looking for so it wasn’t easy for me to get jobs abroad it took some time because of the scales or because of the papers no I think it’s because of this kids I think if you are in a country and then you’re moving to a different country sometimes you have to be ready to start from zero yes so in this case my my tip would be find a job like a steppin job start take it easy because just moving is a big step so take your time when you move and when you’re comfortable look for the job that you like what about companies how how can you say a good company for a bad company when you’re moving abroad because you don’t know the context culture company so is there anything that you might be seen in that company in that country like I triggered you like yes you know I stepped in yeah right now there is no cluster where there’s no way for me to know how accurate that is but this is something I’m using it even just to know you know where other people work and how it is and because sometimes if you don’t have many different experiences with jobs you work you might be working in the best company in the world and you still think it’s not good but if you move around and then you realize oh that was a good company so yeah I would say the reviews and the people I think it’s all about connections I mean yeah when when you have an interview it goes both ways right so you have to be good enough for them but they also have to be good enough for you and people don’t I don’t think people realize that most people go to interview you know very stressed saying works both ways do you want to be hired by that person do you want to see him every day you know what about coming to interviews I’m not sure if culture is different from the Irish culture British culture in terms or couple going into an interview and just expressing yourself have you found any kind of difference like a culture shock so in Greece I really did one interview so all the time I was there I had was easy to find a job without interview so I wouldn’t say I have experience but here I think I found that it was hard to get the interview okay so I think a smart thing to do is use your connections to get the interview and then work hard to prepare and to get the job but yeah I think that the hardest part is to get the interview and I also think now especially for Dublin and it’s smarter to go for a pint and meet someone that works in workday for example would happily recommend to you because there is a yeah you know a bonus and there’s nothing to lose for the person that will you recommend you and you know that would might be easier than you applying and applying you know what about once that you are here like again you got the spirit from the UK from Slovakia and also if you mean Ireland so once that you get to the country whoa and looking from housing what would be a good tip as well for the people so after you move yeah once your study yeah good deep I’d say explore the country explore the culture be open I think that’s important because the culture can be different especially from me coming from from Greece it was very different even though I lived in in UK for five years it was very different because of the weather some increase everything that I like doing like 95% is outside and I think here it’s you know mostly inside because the weather is not good but what I found is that I guess so many people enjoying a walk in the rain which I would never consider right so yeah being open you know help you adapt because that’s what you want to do you want to adopt you don’t want to go to a different country and live in the previous country also if you move you have to be moving your body to on one place and your mind being back to your own country I think it’s wrong yeah have you seen cases or certain like at some point have you felt that you want to go back because things are not working this way or that way here I would like to you I miss Sun a lot barbecues but I didn’t I didn’t leave from Greece because I had to I left because I chose to so I don’t live in Greece anyway I don’t think that country much is my mentality maybe there is no country that much my mentality but yeah right now the plan is to move to Germany a bit closer to family and a bit closer to a bit more sunny I hope did you choose Germany for that for that reason or because was closer to home or do you take any other so that might be interesting we sat down with my wife and we put priorities in our life that’s nice and I said okay I hope that we have the same priorities so you know after the the highest priorities which could be you know love or you know some somewhere comes the the weather and the quality of life however everyone you know perceives it so for me all give life is clean roads clean tape I know it sounds stupid but you know I like that you know with with the climate change I would like to be part of a society that you know takes care of the environment safety which you know I find doubly in a very safe place but you know I hear people say I don’t know so yeah we did these priorities and we decided it you know the best city that would both be close to our families because you know parents getting older and the society and you know organized state unique so the decision to go to Munich was you know taken regardless of you know if I could move but it was a happy surprise that I can move go there and have a job because otherwise it would be much more difficult and expensive if let’s say that someone has an offer and it’s thinking about coming to Ireland and then it’s decided okay well I got the Oh this much money it’s a lot money from what I get at home shall I go but what about living abroad and I’ll get this kind of stuff that comes in mind what advice could you provide to the person that might be listening to this podcast because it’s looking for more information about them yeah I have an example of someone that asked me oh I’m gonna get from an Irish company should they come what do you think is the money good and yeah yeah the money is very good but I have a high lifestyle thing okay that’s the wrong approach for me the approach is first you decide what you want to do and then you do it if you take the decision it will happen like it’s you know it’s a matter of time you just need to take the decision if you’re looking at money or you know housing problem that we have in double you know these are I think these are all excuses that you make because you don’t really want today to do the move but if you want to do the move you will do it I mean someone that is determined to move to Dublin they will move it’s so easy to find a job as a waiter here let’s say you have no skills you will do it so yeah my advice would be take the decision and you know the rest will follow even if the money is not good you can beat this when when I started here the job that I defected was in betting I think for me it was one of the worst jobs I ever did I did for two months but I wanted to move so if you find yourself if you go back in time and find yourself fifteen years ago what advice could you say to yourself fifteen years ago I think you have advice I think that whatever you do you need to follow your I know it’s a cliche but you know follow your heart like follow the path that you know if you like even though it’s you know what the smart thing to do so yeah my advice 15 years ago don’t go back to Greece yeah I went back to Greece because I you know I was romantic like okay let’s go to the Sun yeah family and but the reality is that like the people we love you we love you wherever you are so you need to find what suits you best not what you but what you think that is going to to be the best for you what really is the best for you it’s it’s it’s I think it’s part of you know the self-awareness so maybe I had to go through all the things that I went through to be here any letter last advice for for the people that might be listening to these again and then they are looking for information about what to do what is to be working abroad what is it starting abroad yeah the general advice I would say it’s that you know I think it’s very easy to work abroad people tend to build walls Oh the language how to get the job I will leave my friends will leave my dog my girlfriend it’s very simple you take the decision and and you do it the example that I like to you is Comfort coming from Greece and from you know my grand parents and you know that whole generation to Germany even now I have relatives in Germany and it just went on the train going somewhere you know taking no further going in the wind and they made it without language now people you know speak English they have the internet you know they can get all the information you want and then you know they still think about it so yeah it’s very easy it’s much easier than you know people think it is to just like now I’m moving to Germany in three months and I haven’t done anything ever you know many things to do but it’s not that hard and ask for help think I know I’m not in facebook but I know there are many communities you know help people like oh I’m coming there for an interview can I crash at your couch or you know yeah I think in that way technology has made simple so yeah just take the decision and do it if the people want to connect with you is there a way to do it yeah I’ll share my personal email I really don’t mind okay what is
