Today’s headline stories:
- What Causes Fast Radio Bursts? To astronomers, it’s one of the great unknowns - to date, we’ve rules out super black holes and shock jocks. But the research continues.
- What do you do with a 570 MegaPixel Camera? How about searching the universe for Dark Energy? Sounds pretty amazing.
- Look out! - Huge, mega comet headed this way… Well, it’s still two billion kilometres off and just doing its thing going around the sun. But it’s amazingly huge!
- Venus probes. Has it really been 50 years? Seems like only yesterday the Soviets sent those little things to their doom to gather only a few moments of data… RIP Venera. You did your best.
- It’s one thing to move home, but to begin the search is a whole other ballgame. Researchers are already searching for habitable planets in other galaxies - And we don’t even have a way of getting there! That’s real optimism.
