This episode gives a much needed perspective to parents and students on the consideration of educational plans after high school. Dr. Doughty-Jenkins of Eli Terry Middle School in Terryville, CT has spent nearly 30 years educating middle school students, pursuing her own educational degrees and yet has always carried an intrigue surrounding school to career. Labels such as Autoimmune Disease, ADHD, PTSD, Depression, Special Education, Dyslexia and many more are holding our students back from their fullest potential and we as parents and educators need to STOP referring to the labeling as often as we do at home and in the classrooms.
My view of the current situation in America is that students beginning their career planning journeys hold themselves back because of labels embedded in their minds from a very early age.
Let’s help our children live their passion and reach heights that they were unable to do growing up with medical labels!
