Cat is living a dream of so many people - she living abroad in Europe!
She shares her experience of being an Au Pair for a host family in Arezzo Italy - a place near Florence that she fell in love with at an early age.
She shares with us how you can apply for an Au Pair position abroad, what it is like to live with a host family, how much you get paid, and how to be selective on which family to choose. She was able to speak with the family's previous American Au Pair for a reference. While an Au Pair, she was able to travel with the family to their beach house, to other areas of Italy, and immerse herself in the Italian culture. Did someone say cappuccino? One thing she didn't expect to happen was how hard emotionally it would be to leave the family at the end of her stay.
As soon as she got home to America after her time as an Au Pair, she immediately started thinking of how she can get back to Europe. She quickly applied to be an English teacher in Madrid, Spain!
Cat shares with us her experience as an English teacher in Spain, the process of becoming a teacher, requirements to be a teacher, how much she gets paid, visa tricks, and ways she has made friends in her new town.

Kenzie is a Dental Assistant in Charlotte North Carolina who shares who went through a 12 week dental assistant program.
During her time in college, she was very intentional on taking a variety of classes and exploring different routes and options to understand and see what would be a good fit for her professionally.
Her career started after completing a fulfilling mission with her church as a nurse licensure specialist for a company that helped nurses get their license here in the United States. This showed her that she was able to make a difference in someone's life & she wanted to make sure her career was meaningful and impactful for the clients and customers she worked with.
This lead her to the dental industry as a dental assistant. In this episode, Kenzie shares the difference between a dental assistant and a dental hygienist because I was not sure!
For her, the dental industry is a perfect combination of a desk job and the medical space.
She loves that being a dental assistant allows a space for her to be a mom and raise a family with the job hours and days that is typical for this industry. This career is very family friendly and conducive for having kids. It can be 8 hour days, or 10 hour days, and 12 hour days.
A typical career path for a dental assistant could be to pursue becoming a hygienist, a dentist, or even a medical device sales rep in the dental industry which is very common.
I had to make sure I asked the question on everyone's mind: "IS IT GROSS TO WORK WITH RANDOM PEOPLE'S MOUTHS?!"
She let us know her thoughts !
Kenzie also shares with us her couponing tricks and tips!!

In today's episode of Working Girls Don't Gatekeep, we sit down with Amy Edgren - the president of Woodhill Financial.
She is a financial advisor, corporate insurance advisor, and business owner!
We discuss the flexibility that this type of 100% commission type of role can provide, as well as strategies to find and retain clients.
To be an insurance advisor and to be a financial advisor requires you to take and pass tests, but doesn't require a specific education path.
We also discuss what it is like to work with family. Her dad used to own the business and had a list of requirements for her to complete before she started working for him. I liked this because it showed her dad the type of commitment that she had to the industry and to his business.
This is a very male dominated industry and women are really needed as advisors! When we think of who normally discusses money and financials and investing, we often think of men.
This narrative needs to shift to encourage women to be in the ballfield of this and having a female advisor could encourage more women to step into the arena.
This career path really allows for financial freedom, ownership of your schedule and time, and unlimited success as long as the passion is there.
She also shares the importance of having a professional network. She has joined an accountability network who are in different industries and she meets with monthly to make their goals known and accounted for.
Woodhill Financial is currently hiring another advisor in the Twin Cities area! Reach out to Amy if you are a fit and mention this podcast!

Fashion Merchandising background brought Mary Ruth to Freight Forwarding.
Supply Chain and logistics is an industry that touches almost everything we do.
There really are not many women in this industry which is why this message is so important to share with other women..
There is a stereotype that this industry is very male dominated but there is a lot of space for women.
She suggests this job to people because this industry is never going away and almost every metropolitan area has freight forwarding.
Anyone can come in at the entry level to this and succeed and be promoted without any high level degree.
Mary Ruth has succeeded financially in this career and it was so fun to learn her career path and excitement for this. Her confidence has grown because of this.

Navigating the Job Hunt: Insights from a Recruiter
Taylor sits down with us today to discuss her career as a recruiter in the Minneapolis area.
If you are looking for a job, she is a great resource! And if you have ever considered becoming a recruiter, this is a great conversation to learn more about the career and learn how the process works.
She tells us how recruiters get paid
The benefits of using a recruiter - a surprising fact was that there are many companies who ARE hiring, but are not posting their jobs online. You have to go through a recruiter to get those roles.
I was also happy to learn that as a candidate, it is free to use a recruiter! Think of them as a matchmaker!
We also discuss how she is balancing working a full time job while she has 2 young daughters.
Listen in because I had a really great time connecting with Taylor and I learned a lot more about what Recruiters do!
