Working with the Word

Zephaniah has a message for all the nations - not only will God judge his people Judah, all of them will also stand or fall before the LORD's wrath against sin. Not only does this show God's sovereignty over all peoples of the earth, it also hints at God's promise to unite all nations. Join us as we read and discuss Zephaniah 2:4-3:8.

Doom and gloom. A day of wrath and destruction. That's what God says is coming for Judah. Why such a dark picture? What have they done to deserve this verdict? Will God show mercy? How does this help us understand God's anger and judgment today? Join us as we read and work through Zephaniah 1:1-2:3.

We're back with a textual study of the book of Zephaniah. Like all the minor prophets, Zephaniah's message is relevant, relatively brief, and powerful. Not only are we diving into a less well-known book to challenge ourselves to grow, this study is like a sampler platter of the larger prophetic books. Grab your Bibles and read with us, or just listen along, as we introduce Zephaniah!

Revelation is perhaps the most cryptic book in the New Testament, but it was intended to send a clear message to the first century Christians about their victory through Christ. For us, it is easy to get caught up in speculations or the details of John's visions, so we need to first understand how Revelation brings the Whole Story to its climactic resolution.

Counting by book, there are more epistles (or letters) in the New Testament than any other kind of writing. From Romans to Jude, so much of God's story is communicated and preserved through personal correspondence between early Christians. Together, these letters explain the details of the gospel and instruct Jesus' followers how to live accordingly. But how do they fit into the Whole Story of the Bible? And how are they relevant today?

"And you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth..." So begins the story of how the gospel spread from a small band of disciples in a second-floor room in Jerusalem to the capital of the Roman Empire and Caesar himself. Acts is an exciting story, but it's much more - it's the very backbone of the Whole Story.
