Welcome to the Bri’ish Status, the only podcast on the internet with a name that makes no sense. I’m your host Archie, and every episode I will be joined by my co-hosts Alexander, Ollie and Iestin.

In our podcast we will talk about all aspects of our lives. Although the lives of secondary school students might not be interesting, you’ll never find out unless you listen right?

We had an exciting morning in the world of Workington Academy Radio: two of our newest team members, Alexander and Ollie, interviewed Workington Town Captain Jamie Doran. The boys arranged this themselves and conducted the interview independently.

The standard of their work is incredible and has really impressed Mr and Mrs Williamson! They asked him about the upcoming playoff final this Sunday and how he got to where he is today. We’re certain that we have two future radio stars in the making.

Radio has been a saving grace for us during the months where we have been forced to stop normal life and lockdown. For many, the voices on the radio have become a source of friendship and companionship.

Music has the power to shape our lives, and that’s been more evident during the past 12 months.

There are many icons of radio, who we aspire to be like. We were lucky enough to speak to one such icon. Nick Grimshaw!
