Before Jesus was born, the Gentile world had little value of human life. Infanticide was common. Gladiators fought to the death for entertainment. Many ancient cultures practiced human sacrifice. When God assumed a fully human person in Jesus Christ, human beings had demonstrated value. Those who followed Jesus built cultures and societies that valued each individual person.
