If we want to bring change to situations, we must first be willing to allow ourselves to be changed.

To take up our cross is to take up the way of Jesus, including waging war through surrender.

Love wins. It never fails. It is intent on building up, healing, and restoring. When we choose to act in offensive opposition to evil, there is a chance that good things will be destroyed in that confrontation. This does not mean bad or destructive things are not dealt with. No; they are addressed in an entirely different way. The heavenly kingdom does not focus on what is bad or wrong; it focuses on what is good and right.

If you want your way, fight. Remember: where there is a fight, there are walls of defense.But if you want hearts, surrender. Instead of fortifying defenses, you weaken them. Humility dismantles argument and conflict.Jesus' death was a submission, a voluntary offering. When a greater authority voluntarily submits itself to a lower authority, it is not a defeat or a victory, but an entirely different type of warfare. The result is not victory by force, but by love--a conquest of the heart.
