Today’s Episode “The Longest of Shots” with our guest Michael Stein. Michael come from a long line of “long shots”. His grandmother and her family escaped the Russian concentration camps at gunpoint on her way to America. His father was a homeless New York street kid who eventually became a millionaire, then lost everything due to a reckless lifestyle and found himself penniless and living homeless again. He was an unplanned child, born over two months premature, with immunity issues. Growing up, diagnosed with a “learning disability”, Dyslexia, and had a bad stutter. He grew up in a broken home. I was weak, riddled with health chellenges, frequently confused, felt out of place, socially awkward, quiet, hyper, and impulsive. When he was a kid, people were not familiar with the terms ADD, ADHD, attention deficit hyper disorder (something I learned I had later on). I eventually overcame many of these issues and have found much success and failures along the way. This is Michael’s story. Take a listen and enjoy.

Today’s Episode “What in the World? Halloween Edition” started off as a reunion show bringing back a collection of amazing guests which were interviewed separately on the show, each stemming from the same topic point - paranormal Phenomenon. Each of the guests were connected through a paranormal investigation at a location in Mississippi. What we ended up getting was a chance to catch with two great friends made from the show experience, Kendall & Vera Whelpton (Robot Ninja Media). Brad Cooney and John Bullard due to scheduling conflicts were unable to join us and we at at Walley Media Group wish them much future success. Right in the middle of this reunion, as I while hosting oozed with skepticism about the subject matter was exposed to something unexplainable, so I left it in the episode for the listeners to formulate opinions about the source. Today’s Episode “Shambles: The Patrick Chester Story” is a story about the evolution of addiction, specifically sports betting. Patrick Chester is an author and speaker on the subject of gambling addition. A former addict himself, he now lives in Washington State with his wife Erica and his two sons. If you take a group of people playing slot machines or cards, or backing a horse or football team, some won’t be affected at all, a couple may develop a mild gambling habit whilst one may end up with a with a severe problem. It’s hard to say what the trigger is, as its different for each person but Patrick traces his trigger back to when he was young.  His father took him and his sister to parties where people were gambling and drinking and having a great time. Patrick didn’t recognise the dangers of gambling because he had grown up seeing it as fun and harmless, something you could do as a family. Before he knew it though, it had taken over his life.Take a listen and enjoy.

Today’s episode “Pornacopia: Fantasy Meets Reality” with our special guest Joshua Shea. Joshua Shea is an author, educator and speaker on the topic of pornography addiction. Shea was born and raised in Lewiston, Maine, and started working in journalism at 17 years old in 1993 for his hometown newspaper, The Sun Journal. Having caught the news bug, he worked his way up the ladder at various newspapers throughout New England as both a writer and editor along the way. In late 2009, he launched Lewiston Auburn Magazine, the first lifestyle magazine of its kind in central Maine. A little more than a year later, Shea helped create the Lewiston Auburn Film Festival, also the first of its kind in central Maine. Shortly thereafter, he captured a spot on the Auburn City Council, where he served for two years. His addictions got the better of him in late 2013/early 2014 and he made much needed changes to his life. Following intense rehabilitation, Shea has worked mainly as a ghostwriter for corporate clients. His first book, "The Addiction Nobody Will Talk About: How My Pornography Addiction Hurt People and Destroyed Relationships" was first released in January 2018, with an update in September 2019. His second book, co-written with Tony Overbay, LMFT, "He's a Porn Addict...Now What? An Expert and a Former Addict Answer Your Questions" was released in December 2019 to help the partners of pornography addicts. Shea's newest book "Porn and the Pandemic: How Three Months in 2020 Changed Everything" was released in July 2020.

Today’s episode “Humor Lost, Comedy Regained” with ur Guest Comedy Central Creator Art Bell we did discuss his odyssey. While working at HBO in the late 80's, pitched the idea of an all comedy channel, but was told it was a stupid idea. When the Chairman of HBO accidentally heard of my idea, it was a go. His book, Constant Comedy: How I Started Comedy Central and Lost My Sense of Humor is my recently published memoir (Ulysses Press, Sept 2020) that tells the amazing story of how it all happened, from idea, through the Comedy Central's first six years where I was a senior programming and marketing executive. He is an entrepreneur who spent most of his career in television. People find the story of insight, creativity and persistence inspiring; and the book is funny, too.

Art Bell is a writer and former media executive known for creating, building, and managing successful cable television channels. His memoir, Constant Comedy: How I Started Comedy Central and Lost My Sense of Humor was just published (September 2020, Ulysses Press). While working at HBO he pitched the idea of a 24-hour comedy network which he helped develop and launch. Art went on to hold senior executive positions in both programming and marketing at Comedy Central. During that time he also coauthored a humor book entitled Web Sightings: A Collection of Websites We’d Like to See. After leaving Comedy Central, Art became President of Court TV, where he was a guiding force behind one of the most successful brand evolutions in cable television.
