In this biting comedy of errors, the hapless Arnolphe is undone by his own double dealing and double standards.

Arnolphe, a pompous middle-aged man, has his future all mapped out and will take advice from no-one. He has raised his young ward, Agnès, in a nunnery so that she will remain innocent and ignorant and thus be the “perfect” wife for him. Now she is 17 and he moves her to a house on his estate in preparation for the wedding.

But Agnès has other ideas…

Written by Molière, The School for Wives was first performed in December 1662, yet many of its themes remain relevant today in a fresh, witty English translation.

- Publication of the Least Developed Countries Report 2017 (UNCTAD)

Also, the Palais is being taken over by kids today as part of Universal Children's Day. French pop group Kids United are on-site.

Swiss releases: Wednesday 22nd & Thursday 23rd November

The recent hurricanes that tore through the Caribbean left a trail of destruction. Many people are still homeless and schools have to be rebuilt. Running water and electricity is still causing problems.

In Basel, there’s a fund raising event with rum and reggae. You can go to sample many different types of rum, rum based cocktails and all with the backing of reggae music.

You may also pick up a bargain at the silent auction which includes hotel stays and meals in top restaurants.
