World’s Content: a podcast about language

This is the last episode of The World's Content and we’ll be looking into some English words and expressions used by Australians. We’ll also have a look at some idioms used here in the UK and how they translate into other languages and we will end by reciting a poem from The World’s Intent, an e-book of poems that you can find on Amazon.co.uk and currently available online for under £4.

1) The Germans called them "Janus-words," after the ancient Roman god patron of beginnings and endings. They are words that have developed contradictory meanings.

2) Colloquial expressions like Estar como una cabra, Tirar la casa por la ventana, Mas cara que espalda. Off your trolley, To push the boat out, To have a lot of cheek.
