The purpose and the intent of light is to illuminate and expose what is there. When you allow the light to illuminate and expose every area of your life, you will SHINE bright with the light of Christ. When Jesus said "you are light" it wasn't so that you would now avoid darkness. But He said, "Let your good deeds shine out for all to see." You are not called to avoid darkness...but you are called to expose it!

We are always under the influence of something. The two things Pastor Mark looks at in this sermon are gravity, and grace. By gravity we mean our thoughts, our approach to life, things under the sun. Grace on the other hand, lifts us up, it restores, and gives us fresh vision for life.

The primary duty of the light is to be seen. Jesus calls us "the light of the world!" Jesus never challenges us to become light, He simply says that we are - and that we must SHINE with the reflections of His light. When there is not a full reflection, it means that something has become an obstacle to the light. A shadow is made when an object blocks the light; you can't reflect if you don't allow the light to illuminate and expose every area of your life. Sometimes we choose to live with shadows because we don't allow the light to penetrate everything.

When you have this belief that you are not enough, it actually dis-empowers you from walking in all that God has for you. But the truth is that you are not inadequate, you are enough. You can be used by God.
