Gil Halsted talked with Amanda Gennerman, Esq., a very experienced and now very busy immigration lawyer about the situation migrants face in our community given the fast-changing and sometimes little known laws and regulations concerning their status and presence here in the US.
With the US government priority the enforcement of quickly changing and contradictory laws, it’s important for migrants to get good information about status and rights.
Amanda helped establish the Community Immigration Law Center, known as CILC, here in Madison that offers free help for immigrants looking to clarify their options and status in the US at this moment.
Her best advice is to get good information, whether it’s with a private, licensed immigration attorney or from CILC or another community service.
