On today’s show, host Ali Muldrow is joined by two gun violence advocates–Tyler Kelly and Darrell Lofton– to talk about their work to change the narrative about school safety and power.

A crowd of students at UW-Madison joined a walk-out this morning in support of Mahmoud Khalil.

A key figure in last spring’s pro-Palestine protests at Columbia university, Khalil was arrested Saturday by ICE agents – sparking fears for student activists here in Madison.

Incumbent alder Tag Evers has represented Madison’s west side on the city council since 2019.

He’s seeking another term this spring and faces one opponent in Robert Luther, a U.S. Navy veteran and retired city of Madison firefighter.

Sitting down with WORT News Producer Faye Parks, he outlined his “all of the above” approach to Madison’s affordable housing crisis.

Hundreds of protestors braved slushy conditions at the Wisconsin State Capitol on Friday to “Stand Up for Science,” rallying against the Trump administration’s proposed funding cuts to the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

The protest was part of a nationwide event, with rallies organized in states across the country.
