Is screen time really rotting our kids' brains? In the first episode of Worth Keeping, dad of two Matthew Dicks and working mom of three Medley DeLeonibus take on screen time, summer homework and the small family moments worth keeping.
Medley teaches her four-year-old to stand on her tiptoes to get onto a water slide, and it doesn't go quietly. Matt decides summer homework is the ninth circle of hell. They share the moments from this week they never want to forget: a French horn mistaken for a terrible trumpet, and a whole family singing along to a song nobody planned to sing.
Then they get practical: how to turn your phone's photos into a birthday memory movie, how to rescue a wedding DVD you can't play anymore, and why Matt prints 30 photos every six weeks and covers his fridge with them. Plus: Medley asks ChatGPT about screen time, Matt brings the research, and both hosts rule on whether a dad can go inside while his kids play in the fenced backyard.

Most of the moments that shape a family are small: a kid's one-liner at the water park, a song the whole house sings without planning to, an argument over summer homework. They feel unforgettable at the time, and a year later they're gone.
Matthew, a record-breaking Moth StorySLAM champion and author of Storyworthy, has written down a moment from his life every day for years. Medley discovered legacy letters through Total Family, wrote three in a single week, and is now learning to keep the everyday moments too. Together they bring real stories from their own families: the memories and experiences, the triumphs and tragedies, and what each one taught them.
In every episode:
• Win or Wreckage: a family story that went beautifully, or horribly wrong
• How to Keep It: a free or cheap way to hold on to your family memories, something you can try within the hour
• What We've Learned: a big parenting or family question, researched and sourced
• Family Court: your family dilemmas, judged by both hosts
Along the way, you'll get to know the people closest to you a little better and build your family's legacy one moment at a time.
