McD's became so popular and profitable because it made "fast food" the new paradigm--the new way of thinking about food. And sadly, the old "Mom & Pop's burger place got lost in McD's dust. We wounded hearts have deeply entrenched paradigms about ourselves. This podcast describes how the pain in our lives can actually lead us to our healing. We wounded heart spend our lives avoiding 

and dismissing the pain we face everyday. But pain is there to teach us and alert us to problems. it's like a tooth ache that tells 

us we have an infected or abscessed tooth. Left untreated that infection can lead to sepsis (blood poisoning) and even death. But 

our pain is not in a tooth--it's in our heart. Yet Jerry ensures that hope is never far.

The Soul--Our Will

In this podcast Jerry notes the difference between the heart and our soul. The soul is that all important part of us that chooses--our will. The soul directs our lives. But in the lives of the wounded in heart and soul we are rarely free to chose our own way in life. Still, Jerry always offers hope for our healing and personal freedom.

...inner weaknesses need to get exteriorized. Those inner issues need to come out so they can be faced, felt, and befriended. For Dorothy, those inner struggles became supports and soul-mates along the way. I didn’t have a Cowardly Lion, Heartless Tin Man, and Brainless Scare Crow for companions.
