An award-winning author, speaker, and licensed therapist, Tina Yeager runs an online life coaching practice, the Flourish-Meant podcast, and Inkspirations Online, a devotional publication for writers. As a therapist, she said, "I was struck by the prevalence of women's struggles with identity, worth, and purpose--and how these issues resonated with mine. I could only reach a few women in person, so I felt compelled to create a vehicle to cast the message of freedom and significance to those I could never see in my office. On July 15, 2019, New Hope Publishers released Beautiful Warrior: Finding Victory over the Lies Formed Against You"

“I Am A Black Woman” principal author, Dr. Carolyn Stephens has served as a family therapist for more than 7 years all over Atlanta, Georgia. During her practice in the primarily under served population, she discovered that 98% of her clientele were single African American women.
As a therapist and family support specialist, she observed that these women shared a common diagnosis called PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder). While serving as their therapist utilizing CBT (cognitive behavior therapy) practices, Dr. Carolyn felt the need to create a therapeutic environment where women could share the pain of their past while healing through the power of sisterhood.
This led to the inception of the “I Am A Black Woman” book project in November of 2018. Dr. Carolyn assembled a team of 13 African American women throughout America eager to share some of their traumatic experiences and how they overcame the barriers that once stifled them.
