This week we kick off a three-part political series. As we sit in uncertain times, in a divided nation, approaching another election cycle, we want to offer a series that doesn't delve into specific candidates or platforms, but into how we can be grace-filled in our political conversations. We want to be women who don't shy away from the hard discussions, but we want to have them in love.
We are so excited that our first guests in the series are Sarah Stewart Holland and Beth Silvers from Pantsuit Politics. The Pantsuit Politics podcast is "a podcast for real conversations that help us understand politics, democracy, and the news – while still treating each other like thoughtful human beings." They strive "to create an informative and grace-filled space by respecting each other as people who are sharing insights into the issues and our hearts. Grace is something that everyone deserves, and it allows for greater depth in our conversations and connections."
We are so grateful that they shared their insight and words of wisdom on creating a grace-filled space as we delve into the hard topics swirling around in our culture. We at Woven are committed to talking about the hard stuff, but doing it in away that invites everyone to be apart of the conversation.
Want to learn more about Pantsuit Politics? You can visit their website- www.pantsuitpoliticsshow.com. Their bi-weekly show is available wherever you stream podcasts. They are also very active on IG @pantsuitpolitics. You can also purchase their book I Think You're Wrong (But I'm Listening) wherever books are sold.
Before we kick-off our summer series, we decided to check-in with each other as we enter this "messy middle" of the pandemic. We discuss how we're doing, what we're learning and what we're eager to get back (also what we're fine with never coming back). We don't know how long this phase will last, when the end will be in sight, but we pray God helps us to thrive in the middle.
This week's episode kicks off our series on integrating the mind, body and spirit. We begin the series by focusing on our bodies- what does it look like to have a healthy view of our own bodies and what does God say about our bodies. In this episode, we present our own struggles with body image and discuss a biblical view of the body. We are so excited about this series and we pray it speaks to you as well!

Rebecca C's Tzatziki Recipe:
1 7"-9" cucumber, cut in half lengthwise 1 1/2 cups Greek yogurt (NOT fat free) 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 1/2 T white vinegar Chopped mint and dill, to taste Remove seeds from cucumber and grate on a box grater. Place on a clean, absorbent kitchen towel and sprinkle liberally with salt. Let sit for a few minutes, then squeeze out as much liquid as possible. Place minced garlic into vinegar, letting sit for 10 minutes or so. In a bowl, combine drained cucumbers and Greek yogurt. Strain vinegar into the mixture, discarding the garlic solids. Mix together with herbs, if desired. Let sit in fridge for an hour to let flavors meld, then add salt and additional vinegar as needed. Serve with pita chips, crudités, grilled meats and vegetables, on top of rice... possibilities are endless!
Our special guest this week is Anjuli Paschall. Anjuli is a pastor's wife, mom to five wildly beautiful children, retired photographer, founder of "The Moms We Love Club," author, question asker, and spiritual director.
Anjuli also just launched her first book, Stay: Discovering Grace, Freedom, and Wholeness Where You Never Imagined Looking, on March 31. Her book, and our discussion, are an invitation to Stay- stay with our hurts, our pains, our anger, our joy; it's an invitation to be present to it all. Staying in all of it, with Jesus, is where we find true freedom. We feel this message is never more timely than right now as we are all being called to Stay Home physically. May we also learn in this moment how to not just stay physically, but spiritually and emotionally as well.

Easter is Coming! In preparation for Holy Week and Easter, we discuss the importance of celebrating the most important event on the Christian calendar despite a pandemic, and we talk about how even when we don't feel like celebrating, we are called to anyways. We also brainstorm ways to make the holiday special even if it will look different than years past. We'd also love to hear how you're planning to celebrate, so please share with us on social media! He is risen! He is risen indeed!
