In Psychology we talk about the devastating consequences of overthinking…. In psych speak we call this rumination and there are fabulous articles and books written about how disastrous this behavior can be….so whether you call it overthinking or call it by its evil twins name, rumination, these both can be a road trip to devastation.
Hi!! I'm Sheri Joi. I am strong, confident, powerful warrior of light. I'm passionate about transformation and even more passionate in guiding women to their own transformation. I do this by sharing my Journey to JOI. Hop in.... let's go for a ride!
In my intro podcast I mentioned we would talk about four P words that have been PLAGUING me. My Perfectionism has caused Procrastination and Paralysis in creating my Podcast. So deep breath AAANNNDDD……. My name is Sheri Joi and I’m a recovering perfectionist!
A couple of years ago one of my friends turned 40 years old so she decided to do a tribute to 40 of the women in her life who had impacted her the most. I loved this idea! This year I’ll be turning 49 so each week from my birthday today until when I turn 50 in a year (and I’ll give myself a couple of weeks for an intermission), I’m going to pay tribute to 50 women or groups of women who have shaped me into the woman I am today! These are in no particular order and these are by no means the only women who have made an impact on me….. These are the women that as I sit here today, making a list…. I have very fond feelings about the gifts they have given me..... there are so many others but I'll start with this fifty I randomly wrote down today.
So I said in no particular order but I’m pretty sure I have to start with my mom or save her for the “last the best of all the game” …I’ve thought about saving her for last because it’s really hard for me to put into words what my mom means to me. Yet, as hard as it is to put into words just how important she is to me, I’ll give it my best…. I’m not saving her for last because ……. …..well….. she was first!!

Before Aimee showed up in my life, I had been “friends” off and on.... And I use the “friends” term loosely…. with a little group of gals who made being friends tough .... Just your average typical mean girls. Every morning on the bus on my way to school, I had to remember who we were mad at or if they were mad at me…. Honestly, the girl drama just wasn’t for me and it was exhausting…. Even though I didn’t know it, I was looking for something different.

n order to tell you about this next woman who has made a huge impact on my life, I have to be very honest and vulnerable about a part of me that is ugly. Sharing this with the world can be a little scary for me but it is important you know the whole story…. For then you will understand how much this woman means to me.

Until I had gone through my own Dark Night of the Soul, I did not realize just what a super power it was to be a woman!!! Because of my Journey to Joi, I am passionate about showing all women that we are stronger than we think we are. We are super heroes…. even when we fall….. we pick each other up and straighten each others crowns.

Sometimes in an ordinary life, you are blessed with EXTRAORDINARY people to walk the road alongside you. This is definitely the case in my life. One of these extraordinary women in my life is Janet Combe and I’m blessed to get to call her my bonus mom.
