What does it actually mean to be led by the Holy Spirit?

Being Spirit-led is bigger than receiving guidance for a decision or sensing that God may be leading you somewhere. The Holy Spirit is God, present and active throughout Scripture, promised to God's people and now dwelling in those who belong to Christ.

In this episode, we'll trace that promise from the Old Testament to Jesus' words to His disciples and into Romans 8, where Paul shows us what the Spirit's presence means for everyday life. God has not given us His Word and then left us to find enough strength to obey it on our own. His Spirit is present in our weakness, strengthens us for obedience, brings conviction, and produces the character of Christ in us.

A Spirit-led woman is learning to recognize where she has been striving in her own strength and to live in dependence upon the God who dwells within her.

This is the third piece of Sanctified SASS: surrendered to God, anchored in His Word, and led by His Spirit.

What Does It Mean to Be Anchored in God's Word?

What does it really mean to be anchored in God's Word?

Being anchored is not about having more certainty about our circumstances. It is about having deeper confidence in God. And that confidence grows as we know Him through His Word.

In this episode of the Sanctified SASS series, we look at 1 Peter 1 and the living hope we have through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Peter connects that hope with the refining of our faith, reminding us that God's work in us does not stop when circumstances are difficult or unclear.

We also turn to Hebrews 6, where Scripture describes hope as "an anchor for the soul, firm and secure." Our hope is secure because it rests in God's character and promises and in what He has accomplished through Christ.

No substitute exists for the Word of God in the life of a woman being sanctified. Through Scripture, we come to know the God we trust. The WRAP practice gives us a simple way to slow down, pay attention to His Word, understand what it reveals about Him, and let that truth shape how we live.

Sanctified SASS is the refined, courageous expression of a woman surrendered to God, anchored in His Word, and led by His Spirit.

In Episode 3 of the Sanctified SASS series, Joni takes a closer look at the way Christians use the word surrender and lets Scripture define what that response to God really looks like.

Romans 12:1–2 gives us the picture of a life willingly offered to God in response to His mercy, expressed through submission to His authority, obedience to His Word, and trust in His faithful care.

Joni also explores the tension between self-rule and Christ-centered living. Jesus is Savior and Lord, and surrender begins with recognizing that our lives belong to Him. God does not become Lord when we surrender. He already is Lord, and our submission, obedience, and trust are responses to who He is.

This is also where refinement becomes part of Sanctified SASS. God does His sanctifying work in the woman we actually are, shaping the way we use our strengths, respond to what we want, and trust Him with outcomes we cannot control.

Through Jesus' prayer in Gethsemane, Joni shows how we can honestly bring God what we want while refusing to make what we want the authority for how we live.
