This week on 2 Dynamite Dudes, Marcus and Dominic pay tribute to Brodie Lee who tragically passed away on December 26. NOTE: The episode to air afterwards was recorded as AEW announced Lee's passing and that news wasn't found out until after Marcus and Dominic finished the episode (Brodie happened to be one of Marcus' draft picks this week in the AEW Draft). Therefore, the beginning was recording the next evening on December 27

AEW star Brodie Lee, real name Jon Huber, has passed away at just 41-years-old. All Elite Wrestling announced the wrestler’s death on social media. Huber previously wrestled for World Wrestling Entertainment under the name of Luke Harper. Huber’s wife said that he passed away after battling a “non-COVID related lung issue” and getting treatment at the Mayo Clinic. Lee had been off television since losing the AEW TNT Championship to Cody Rhodes.

“The All Elite Wrestling family is heartbroken,” AEW announced. “In an industry filled with good people, Jon Huber was exceptionally respected and beloved in every way – a fierce and captivating talent, a thoughtful mentor and simply a very kind soul that starkly contradicted his persona as Mr. Brodie Lee.

“Jon’s love for his wife Amanda, and children Brodie and Nolan, was evident to all of us who were fortunate to spend time with him, and we send our love and support to his beautiful family, today and always. Jon’s popularity among his peers and influence on the wrestling world was worldwide and transcended AEW, so this loss will be felt by many for a long time.

“We were privileged at AEW to call Jon Huber a brother, a friend and one of our own.”

WrestleZone sends our condolences to Huber’s friends and family during this trying time.

This week's special episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown aired on Christmas Day. How did this show navigate the fallout of WWE TLC?

We break it down on the SmackDown Double Down with Colin Tessier.

Happy Hulk Hogan Holidays, Brother! WrestleZone Wrap-Up felt it was necessary to add a needed escape with a hilarious bad holiday comedy with a wrestling tie-in, 1996’s ‘Santa with Muscles‘. Join us WZ’s Kevin Kellam and John Clark being joined by comedian Adam Kwaselow riffing along with the goofy ‘comedy’ and you chiming in on-screen with your comments on-screen. You can watch the movie for free with ads through Vudu at this link.

This Rotten Tomatoes review describes how the very off-the-mark film plays out: “Mean guy millionaire businessman Hulk Hogan is on the run from the police when he disguises himself as Santa. He ends up getting knocked out and wakes up with amnesia believing himself to be the real Santa.” Yes, that’s the premise of this Hulkster holiday hootenanny.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays from your wrestling friends at WrestleZone!
