The American Wrestling Association (AWA) was a big deal in the wrestling world; they boasted some of the top talent in the world and a big TV footprint. It didn't last long, though. Verne Gagne's promotion was quickly poached by Vince McMahon, the ambitious son of the owner of the Northeast Territory. Once Vince took Hulk Hogan, Jesse Ventura, Mean Gene Oakerlund, Bobby Heenan and more, it was all but over.

With Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn looking primed for another program together, we decided we should take a look at the early days of their rivalry. Kevin Steen and El Generico were two young stars in Ring of Honor who started off as partners, but as we know, in wrestling there's no better enemy than your best friend.

Dusty had the brilliant idea of watching the Survivor Series 10-team tag match from 1988. 1994 marked a massive change for WCW. Bill Watts left the company, only to be replaced by Eric Bischoff in a shocking move. Bischoff's first massive move: sign the most famous professional wrestler in the world, Hulk Hogan, and finally pit him against Ric Flair for the World Heavyweight Championship. Bash At The Beach was the first meeting between the two, and it also included names like Steve Austin, Cactus Jack, Terry Funk, Dustin Rhodes, Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, and many other iconic wrestling figures. In 1992, the WWF had a ton of stars but not very much juice. They brought in Ric Flair, thinking they were going to match him up with the icon Hulk Hogan, but got cold feet and never made the match. At Wrestlemania 8, they decided to do a double main event, with Flair taking on Macho Man Randy Savage and Hogan wrestling Sid Justice. Was it any good? The 1992 Royal Rumble is widely regarded as one of the best ever. Ric Flair broke the record for the longest time spent at the Royal Rumble at that time, and Bobby Heenan was his biggest cheerleader on commentary.
