In this episode, David interviews Stan Newton about “The Demon of Doubt.”  Doubting ourselves, our calling, our motives, and such is something that we all struggle with frequently.  Stan discusses what he calls “The Victory Narrative” which is the everybody wins participation trophy myth. When our society projects success as an expectation for all through television and culture it creates a lot of self-doubt and questioning from those just struggling to get by or who have been dealt with difficult circumstances in life.  Why me?  Why am I not succeeding?

Stan is the Interim Director of Dallas Theological Seminary Houston.  He is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and a veteran and has served as a pastor in multiple churches prior to his position at DTS.
